moderated Notification from name change #update
Hi All, Previously, most group notifications were sent with the From name being "(group email address) Notification", like: From: main@beta.groups.io Notification noreply@groups.io I have changed that to just "Group Notification", like: From: Group Notification noreply@groups.io The reason is that, some email clients, like Gmail, will take any sender name/email address and add it to their contacts. Then, when starting to type an email address to send a message to, Gmail would end up matching on the email address from these group notifications names. That would mean that the message would be sent to noreply@groups.io instead of the proper group email address. Please let me know if you have any questions. Thanks,

I could see this being a problem.

Another possible way, wouldn't adding back the group
address but in a non-standard way and suffixed to the changed
"Group Notification" text also resolve this?
i.e. From: Group Notification from Main at beta.groups.io noreply@groups.io Cheers, Christos

Hi Mark,
This change caused the email provider for two of our owner/mods to send groups.io messages to the online spam catcher mailbox for our accounts. I'm one of the owners. The provider is Earthlink. It is coincidental that we have the same provider. We went without for days. I just now figured out that it was the change that caused this. I hope you can notifiy all admins that this may happen to them. We had messages sitting in Pending for days and didn't know it. Our group is K9KidneyDiet and it is for very ill dogs. We have a third moderator who isn't an owner and doesn't have an Earthlink address. She was getting the pendings as well as the applicaitons for membership, but it isn't her job to approve them - that is done by owners. We are a fully moderated group with no exceptions. I want to mention that I have been a member of this beta group for many years and was quite active in it for some time though not now. However, I now cannot get a message to show up on your message board. I tagged both of my attempts with the hashtag bug, thinking that was what it was. I wish I knew why.
