I have not read Marks' proposal in detail but from what I have it seems incredibly complicated. Although existing groups are grandfathered I can well imagine the case where an owner starts a new group

I would comment that all email messages already contain the email address of the poster in the 'FROM' field althouth they are munged in many cases for DMARC purposes but it is hardly that complicated
