Re: keep history available for members who left
#suggestion
I'm having a lot of trouble finding apparently correct results in a member activity search after a member leaves the group. A member left yesterday and all that appears in the history is the action of leaving. Also, when I search on a member name (after the member has left), it returns different results from when I search on the email address. The email address also appears to work (in some cases) only if the "@gmail.com" part is left out of the search term. I could go on and on with the seeming anomalies and seemingly incorrect or weird results. I don't even remember them all but can go back in and find details and report them to support as bugs. I'm not sure it's worth the effort. Bottom line, I'm finding the member activity search after a member leaves extremely flakey and unpredictable, and therefore it would really be helpful for this to be facilitated as proposed above by Mark and Shal.

Mike,
I have my main group and subgroup settings for "members visible" Set toConfirmed in my test group (shalstest@). This appears to be a bug or oversight, and should be reported to support@groups.io so that it gets entered into the issue tracking system. In the past when that option was set to "Subscribers" non-mods could see a Members item in the left hand column. It produced a table with fewer columns than the version visible to moderators. Frances,
Sorry, Shal, it turns out only Rochelle's message was incorrect on myI was going to suggest in that case that perhaps Ro had cc'd or bcc'd you directly in her reply, but I see that her reply was to J's initial post rather than to yours. That you could have detected in your iPhone by the lack of the standard group footer. My copy of Ro's message does have the In-Reply-To field (which is how I'm certain she replied to J), and the References field as well, so short of some kind of glitch in the transmission of your copy I don't know why your iPhone might single out this message for misbehavior. I think I recall hearing this complaint against some mobile devices before. Does your email UI support examining the full message header (view full header, view source, or something like that)? If so you can verify whether the message had a Reply-To field, as all messages from Groups.io should. An error? I'd say so. But which kind is still murky. Mike Fay <mikefay8888@...>
Upfront, I am new to groups.io and am still in the process of moving my yahoo group and a dozen or so subgroups to .io. So maybe I am missing something, but I assume that before the change to separate the Admin functions under the new tab that there was a "members" tab showing in the regular subscriber menu options. I have my main group and subgroup settings for "members visible" Set to "subscribers". I need for all members to be able to see the complete members list for each group/subgroup they are a part of. Unless I am missing something, there is currently no way for the normal non mod/owner subscriber to get to/view the members list.

I just tried this, cause i have muted many threads in beta, and never had to log in, but you are quite correct. NOW it asks you about logging in. I see no reason for this to be required, its an unnecessary and annoying step.

Re: Moderator notice when subscriber's email bounces
#suggestion
Ronaldo,
Bouncing is when a member's email service has rejected a message giving a permanent (don't try again) error code; or when it has repeatedly given a temporary (try again later) error code for too long. Group messages are no longer sent but Groups.io periodically attempts to contact the member. And maybe also (again) if they transition from Bouncing to Bounced. Is there a difference? If so can someone explain it? Bounced is when Groups.io has given up attempting to contact the member. More detail from Mark here: https://groups.io/g/beta/message/3411 Earlier messages, and the Groups.io help, claim that when Groups.io gives up on attempting to contact the member then they are unsubscribed from all groups. But that does not appear to be true anymore - instead they are put on "Bounced" status. Shal https://groups.io/g/Group_Help https://groups.io/g/GroupManagersForum
