NEW: Hashtags can now be set to indicate special messages.

Changes to the site this short week:

• BUGFIX: We were not properly accounting for space removed when deleting files. The bug's fixed. I need to go back and reset file storage byte counts, which will happen next week.
• NEW: Thread actions available when viewing Message View/Expanded Message View/Single Message View.
• BUGFIX: Couldn't change the name of an enterprise subgroup.
• BUGFIX: Allow margin-left css tag; it's what our editor uses to indent.
• NEW: Hashtags can now be set to indicate special messages.
• NEW: If you have a password set, you can now delete it completely if you'd like.
• CHANGE: Updated some verbiage on the logged out home page and features page to reflect new features.
• NEW: Can moderate threads and can set threads to be automatically moderated after a certain number of days.
• NEW: For enterprise groups, you can set up group aliases, which redirect to your group (for misspellings, prevent sound-alike squatters, etc).
• BUGFIX: Fixed an issue where when a moderated message is approved via email, the number of moderated messages isn't decremented.

I will be busy the rest of the week with Thanksgiving things, although of course always monitoring the site. If you're celebrating Thanksgiving, I hope you have a good one. If not, I hope you have a good rest of the week.

Whether it's moderated initially or that's turned on I believe that
e-mail participants should receive a message back either for every
submission letting them know that all content on this thread is
reviewed before going live ...

... or, and this is much more complicated programming wise, that sort
of message sent the first time any given member attempts to add to a
thread that's currently moderated ...

That find should, of course, have been "fine."

BTW, is editing one's own post disabled in Beta?  This was an instance where I was going to typo fix but "Edit" doesn't come up in the "More" menu.

              The icons showed up find on my computer.  While I love the balance scale visually I prefer the gavel meaning wise.  Moderation on a thread may be nothing at all about balance, particularly if someone is giving factually incorrect information in a context where that very much matters.  I am quite sure that moderators who are caught moderating those sorts of threads are not looking for balance when the meaning is taken as "both sides" [factually wrong and factually correct] get equal time.

               I also like the connotation of the gavel as being associated with a judge, which is a huge part of the role of moderator when it comes right down to it when a moderator is actually needed.

I think that would be a good idea. A question Mark will have is "what icon?". Looking at Font Awesome I can see a few cadidates:

 Envelope-open
 Shield
 Hands-stop-o
 Gavel
 Exclamation-triangle
 Eye
 Balance-scale

(those icons aren't likely to show up correctly in email, sorry I don't know how to do that)

Conceptually I like the balance scale, but it is a bit large and intricate - visually it may not work as well. The open envelope is simpler and could represent the idea that messages will be "opened for inspection" before posting. The gavel of course represents passing judgement, so that might be suitable.
