moderated Combine Direct Add emails for sub groups - #suggestion

Tom Vail

When you do a Direct Add of a member and include subgroups, the member receives an email for the main group, plus one for each subgroup.  For us, with 2 subgroups, that generates 3 email to a new member, which for some is a bit confusing.

I would like to suggest they be combined into one email which lists the group and subgroups.

Peace,
Tom

moderated Deleting old pending subs

Hi All,

There was a bug in the code that deleted old pending subscriptions, so that they never were actually deleted. I've fixed the bug (hopefully), and starting this evening, pending subscriptions that are older than 2 weeks will be deleted.

Hi All,

I've changed "Rejected message" to "Message rejected".

Thanks,
Mark

My point, not well communicated, is that it the construction is kept in mind and focused on up front when composing every message (of any type anywhere) the ambiguity and huhs? more often than not automatically disappear.

Certsinly it’s fine as is.

The error in my group's address and phone book database is back. I reported this some time ago. When a member (including me as owner) attempts to open the database, we get an error message as follows

Geocode was not successful for the following reason: REQUEST_DENIED
If I click on that, it closes the error window and shows a very enlarged map and has the member information listed below. I can't get it to give me list view.

Thank you for any assistance and feedback you can provide

We're not talking about moderator rejections. This is solely about messages that were automatically rejected by the system!

Yes it was. We are not talking about "Rejected pending message." We are talking about automatically rejected messages due to size, attachments not allowed, etc. This is in the Message Activity log, not the Moderator Activity log.

Definitely NOT the latter. This comes to our attention because someone wants
to know WHY... and "Message was rejected" doesn't even begin to hint at WHY.

And actually, it "comes to your attention" because I was searching the Message Activity log and found the search term "Rejected Message" off the mark. The "why" is there and has always been there.

Well, we actually do know why. The full text of the search term includes "due to size" or "due to disallowed attachment" (not exact quotes - I'm paraphrasing) etc. "Message rejected" or "Message was rejected" or "Message was rejected by system" are all perfectly fine. Have a look at the search terms in the Message Activity log.

I started this thread not for any nit-picky ideal of going "cleaner/crisper." I started it because I found the current term actually misleading.

I'd leave anything else alone that doesn't truly lack clarity.

How about "Message rejected by system"? Passive, I know, but it keeps the word "Message" first.

J,

I also see it that way with no space between the sentences and not
double spaced. There is a space before the hyphen before the name.

Thanks! That's interesting, because here on the web it appears with a line break. When it appeared correctly in emails, it was double-spaced on the web - which caused me to get rid of what seemed to be the "extra" line break...????
