Yes, that is correct. Sorry for any confusion.

moderated include auto-sending of group guidelines in activity log #suggestion #done

It seems odd that the sending of the monthly group guidelines, whose date is included and displayed in "last message sent," is not included in the activity log. You see "May 1" for last message sent, and the activity log shows nothing beyond Ap 27, for example. It's easy to quickly figure out the reason for the disparity, but it's a little odd at first glance. So the suggestion is to include the sending of the group guidelines in the activity log.

moderated Size limit changes #update

Hi All,

Previously, we've had the following size limits for all groups:

Emails: 100MB
Photos: 100MB
Files: 100MB

For premium and enterprise groups, I've raised the Photos and Files limits to 500MB. I've kept the max email size the same because many (all?) email service providers have limits on the size of emails they will accept. I don't have specifics, but my gut says the majority limit message sizes to something under 100MB.

(Photos and Files referring to uploaded photos to the Photos section and uploaded files to the Files section).

On the TODO list is work to better support better file/photo uploads, allowing for pausing and restarting transfers and dealing better with unreliable network connections. I don't have a timeframe on that, however.

Please let me know if you have any questions.

Thanks,
Mark

moderated List-Id change rollback #update

Hi All,

Over the last weekend, I made a change to the List-Id header, adding the group's id as a prefix. The idea is that I'd be able to use this to help identify messages sent via the FBL mechanism where we receive spam reports (sometimes email providers will counter-productively obscure identifying information in these messages). This change was to be announced in tomorrow night's #changelog, as I didn't think it was a big deal. I have just now rolled back this change, for two reasons. 1) It turns out I don't really need it to identify FBL messages, and more importantly 2) many more people than I thought use the LIst-Id header to filter email, and the change broke those filters.

So, sorry, I didn't know. It's been rolled back.

Thanks, Mark

moderated Integration Google Photos #suggestion

Hi,

Is there an integration with Google Photos?  If not, are there options to build one?

Thank you,

Ran into this again yesterday.  I guess someone decide to see what would happen and gave ownership of one of their photos to someone else, so I had to change it back.

I can reproduce this as well, on Firefox and Chrome.

moderated Hashtag edit bug #bug

KWKloeber

Noticed a possible bug - if I try to create an already existing #-tag, there is a warning.  Good to go.

But when I tried to edit/rename a #-tag to an already existing #-tag name, there was no warning -- the screen just hung white, didn't time out, just hung.

No biggie, but JFYI.

Some of the polls I do in my groups are rather lengthy, and it would be very helpful to be able to save them as drafts while I'm working on them (same way as messages).

Displaying the members list by posting status would solve your issue, is simple, has been requested several times in the past, and (at one point) I’m pretty sure was on the ToDo list.

In my group, with other 2500 members, posts are not moderated, nevertheless some members are moderated for different reasons and over time we have somehow lost track of their number.
Mine is a free group and I would be fine with a basic feature such as having a list of all moderated members in one place, regardless of their posting details. Maybe more complex options, which presumably would require more time and work from Mark, could be available for paid groups.

Have a nice day,

Marina,

It would be useful to have the option to view a list of all moderated
members, as you can do for instance with bouncing members or members
with different status.
It would be very useful. But I agree with J about the view drop-list not being a good user interface for the feature.

For this, I'd like to see a filter tool (aka advanced search function) much like the funnel icon at the top of the Topics / Messages lists. That opens a little panel that lets you filter for messages in various date ranges.

In the Members list the expanded panel could have checkboxes to filter for various Posting Privileges and other member characteristics.

I'd also like to be able to sort the list by additional criteria (which J said may be in the works). Sorting and filtering are related concepts, and in many cases two different means to the same end. And sometimes very powerful in combination.

moderated Re: Moderated members option in Members' List dropdown menu #suggestion

I think it makes more sense to wait for ability (which I think is planned at some point) to sort the members list by posting status. There are a lot of different posting statuses, and whether or not to display by "moderated" would not make much sense in an already moderated group (just for one example among many).

I think posting status is a different level of category from the current dropdown categories Pending, Bouncing, Past, Banned, and (current) Members. I personally would not care to see "Moderated" or any other posting statuses in the dropdown. I think it would weigh it down. I don't have strong feelings about this, but think about this: where would it end? Would we eventually have all the possible posting statuses in the dropdown?

I see that in the dropdown menu in the Members' List page you can choose to view Moderators, Pending Approval, Bouncing, Banned, but not Moderated.
It would be useful to have the option to view a list of all moderated members, as you can do for instance with bouncing members or members with different status.

moderated Suggestion for File Update Window #suggestion

Glenn Glazer

It would be helpful if this window that recognizes carriage returns/line feeds on edit, forwarded that formatting to the emails.

Right now, I might have an edit window that shows:

-----------

Description of file and contents. More description. More context.

UPDATE: something something.
UPDATE: a new thing was needed and a change was made.

-----------

But what the email looks like is:
Description of file and contents. More description. More context. UPDATE: something something. UPDATE: a new thing was needed and a change was made.
which if I hadn't thought to put the UPDATE in would have completed elided the history.

As a stretch goal, it would be cool if the comments understood versions and for each upload, one only added new comments that would be then printed out with an incremented counter in front of them.

Thanks,

Glenn

moderated Re: Messages contain CC:group even with ReplyTo=sender and "Remove other options" #bug

Jim Avera

The CC line is still there.  I just got spammed by a moderator who did "reply all" to someone else's post.

This has become a significant problem in my group, which is "Announce Only" and "Reply To Sender" only, but has about a dozen Moderators (who have no privs, except that they can post).

There's been email storms where one of them does "reply all" to a post, adding additionan CCs of others who also happen to be moderators, and they in turn "reply all"  to each other thinking they are having a private conversation just among themselves, but blast the entire list.

Help please!
