Items per page reverts to Infinite scroll in membership list on mobile device
#bug
Hi Mark,
if my preferences are set to display either 20, 50 or 100 items per page, when I scroll down my membership list I momentarily see the next page options but then the next 'n' items are loaded as though I have Infinite Scroll set. Regards Andy

Mobile display menu bar obscures Action button dropdown options
#bug
Hi Mark,
when viewing RSVP responders and trying to use the Action button options on my mobile phone found, I found that the bottom menu bar obscures some of the Action button options. I've tried Firefox and Chrome. In Firefox, the menu bar is not even anchored to the bottom of the screen: I've seen the menu bar jump around in Firefox mobile for a while but until now, it hasn't stopped me from doing what I needed. In Chrome, the menu bar is at the bottom of the screen so it covers different Action button options: Regards Andy

Clarify text on RSVP events buttons
#suggestion
Hi Mark,
The text on the RSVP 'Will Attend' and 'Will Not Attend' buttons is confusing once a response has been made and if no guests are allowed: Use of the word 'Update' in this case makes no sense and causes confusion. The fact that the button is blue shows that it is already the selected option so what are you updating? If guests are allowed however, it does make more sense as you can change the number: Can we include the 'Update' prefix only if guests are allowed? Regards Andy

French reply to message by email uses preface "Réf", not "Re," creating new topic
#bug
Can we please add "Réf:" (French for Re:) to the list of reply indicators, it is breaking Topics up in one of my groups, one subject line today is "Réf. : Re: Réf. : Re: Réf. : Re: Réf. : Re: Rf. : Re: ".
Thank you.

To be retrievable even by webmail, the image URL must be visible to the world. 1) Images in the group's Photos section don't have stable URLs, so you can't really use that. 2) If the image was stored in the Files area, the recipient would still have to logged in to gain access to it. 3) Non-members cannot access group content at all, so the image couldn't be used for -- say -- an Invite or Pending Subscription notice. Still, it would really be nice to be able to include a logo or a screenshot or anything of that nature. In my case, I placed the linked images in a folder on our [separate] public web site. I have to remember why they're there, and be sure not to delete/move/rename them. Even that doesn't work if the person reading the received email doesn't happen to be connected to the internet at the time. For all these reasons I'd like to be able to just embed the image in the outgoing message. Regards, Bruce

Ohh, I learned something new today, didn't realize you could trick it like that. I now notice the source code button being there in the expanded toolbar, I never bothered to expand it because the image buttons were not there. > If course, if you ever delete or move the image at the source, it leaves a dead link in your Member Notice. True, diligence would be needed. What could help reduce the chance of it happening is using group storage in this case, a link from your Files (that's what I did with our groups so this way the graphics could be reused in the wiki -or elsewhere- without the "AddNew" duplication), or, if no Files, sent an email to the group with the graphic, lock the topic, then use the URL groups.io is using for that file, as that won't/shouldn't change since emails went out with it. Re: Member receiving msgs from non-subscribed groups
#bug
I had a few (maybe 5 or 6) non-members, people who had never heard of Groups.io, asking me as group owner to cease sending them messages, but not recently. I think they were all Y! mail users, and the group member whose messages they were getting was also a Y! mail address. (It might have been another provider, not Y**oo!) My workround at the time was to apologise, explain, set the innocent group member whose messages were being diverted to "daily summary" rather than individual messages, and send a message to that group member to say what I'd done and why. In each case the complaints then stopped -- and the daily summary meant that if the messages did go outside the group, only their subject lines were revealed, not their contents. You may or may not find a similar response to be helpful. - Mark (no, not the famous one, just another Mark)

Re: Member receiving msgs from non-subscribed groups

I have seen instances of emails sent to one address then being forwarded to other, unrelated addresses. I do not know why someone would do something like that. Please send me off-list the email address that's in the footer and I will disable it. Thanks, Mark

Thanks Shal
My bad. I should have mentioned that the footer unsubscribe edress is not his, at least on the emails he copied to me - so I suspect none had his. Unfortunately I don’t have the originals otherwise I’d check the routing. He’s a little like pulling teeth but hopefully it has ended otherwise I’ll press him for more and dig deeper.

Re: Member receiving msgs from non-subscribed groups
#bug
Ken,
A member reports that this week he’s received several emails fromHave him look in the message footer, next to the Unsubscribe link. That shows the email address to which that message was sent. If it shows his address, then most likely he is subscribed to the group in question, because this can't happen by any kind of forwarding or misdirection of the message. If it shows an unknown address then a detailed look at the message's header fields (specifically the chain of Received and maybe X-Received fields) may reveal how the message ended up in his Inbox. https://toolbox.googleapps.com/apps/messageheader/ Is there a systemic bug going on here?Maybe. There were a bunch of reports in GMF of AOL users receiving misdirected groups.io messages, not recently though. Shal

That’s very weird. I know that sometimes, people forward me emails from other cats groups if they think I can offer insight into the cat’s illness. But I assume that forwarding is not what’s happening in your case.

it would be handy to be able to put images in Member Notices, as we already can for regular messages.
I have not given thorough consideration as to how to manage the associated storage. Thanks for your consideration, Bruce
