Why not be simple and mainstream and just use bugzilla .
I literally have never worked in a shop since y2k that doesnt use it.

Hi All,

As noted several times, the existing Trello board for tracking feature requests is very much out of date, and I have been looking for something better. It was recommended that I check out a service called Canny, and I've gone ahead and set up an integration with them. Canny is like a next-gen Uservoice, for people familiar with that service.

You need to log in to comment/submit feature requests; the login system uses your Groups.io login, so you don't need to enter a password or anything. The service charges us based on the number of people commenting, so I've restricted the login ability to people who are moderators or owners of premium groups only. But anyone can view the site.

Please check it out and let me know what you think. One favor to ask, when adding feature requests, please be as detailed as possible, with examples if you can. Also, I cannot guarantee any particular feature will be implemented, and I cannot guarantee any order of feature development.

Thanks,
Mark

Mark,

Will you retain another path for those who are not "owners or moderators of premium groups?" Perhaps just maintaining beta.groups.io?

Yup, but that doesn't work for images in the database.  And, if you don't know Excel you're SOL.

It is very inconvenient having to convert to .csv and then back to a printable sheet with everything in place.

Many others have also been asking for this option over the past year and a half that I've been with g.io.  Hopefully it is on the 'to do' list and will get to the top in the very near future.

Apart from this 'problem' that we have everyone loves the ease of using g.io compared to yg.

Sort of.  Mark used Trello at one time, but has been looking for something better (of course, the YG mess didn't speed things up any ;>).  It hasn't been updated in some time (some of the items are actually complete), but you can look it over anyway, https://trello.com/b/qu3WgzVq/beta

That's exactly what the Yahoo page Frances posted to GMF yesterday says:

https://ca.help.yahoo.com/kb/SLN31010.html

Beginning October 28, new content won't be able to be uploaded to the site, and all previously posted content on the site will be permanently removed after December 14. We will continue to process requests to download your content as long as they are submitted by January 31, 2020.

I happened to send a request for the Help email a few days ago.  If possible, and not too much trouble, it could be handy to include the current Email Delivery Options chosen by the requester, possibly at the top of that section.

Thanks,

Andrew,

Like you I didn’t expected to receive content I had not created but some one mentioned on another group they go everything.

So I applied and received two ZIP files totalling nearly 3GB containing everything from every group I think had ever been a member of, 91 in all.

So Messages, Files, Photos, Links and attachments where these were stored on the server.

To sum up I urge everyone who has enough GB free locally to request their data.

Dave

I think we have to treat these announcements with care.  Yahoo refers to “your content” but that does not necessarily mean files and photos, for example.  It may only refer to messages posted by an individual, and no other messages.  The wording is obscure.

My understanding of the change is that although “content” will generally be removed from December 14, “content” will remain until it has been extracted in response to individual requests.

So by asking for our content, would that result in the extension of the content deletion date for a specific group? This is not a question I think we can answer here, but equally I doubt if Yahoo would answer it.

This announcement at Yahoo has not been seen before today:

"We will continue to process requests to download your content as long as they are submitted by January 31, 2020."

The previous update from Yahoo was on December 7th, when they said: "If your download request is made by 11:59pm PST on Saturday, December 14, 2019, your content will not be deleted until your download is complete."

Yes to print button and for images in the database to be printed as well.
The EXPORT DATABASE feature does not now include images.....this makes the database useless to me.  Can't use database whose images only exist in the ether.
