Re: removal followed by banning followed by unbanning wipes out Notes everywhere
#bug
Just adding that in the situation that caused me to discover this problem (which I have since reproduced through tests), the reason I unbanned the member was that banning caused the Display Name to reappear (as mentioned before in a previous thread), and I wanted it to remain blank, as with all other Past (not banned) members.

removal followed by banning followed by unbanning wipes out Notes everywhere
#bug
Previously, the fact that removal or banning wiped out the member's Notes in either the Past Members or the Banned list was only an inconvenience: all you had to do to access them was go to the other one in which they still existed and copy them over. (Note: originally the Notes were wiped out only in the Past Members list, which led me to the hack of banning the member if I wanted to see the Notes, because the Notes were accessible in the Banned list. Subsequent to that, a change was made that caused the opposite situation: Notes were no longer accessible in the Banned list, but only in the Past Members list; so to see the, that's where you had to go.)
Now, however, if you remove, then ban a member (for which you must use the email address), then change your mind and unban the email address, the Notes are permanently wiped out everywhere. This is more than an inconvenience. It's a problem. -- J Messages are the sole opinion of the author, especially the fishy ones.

Hi! Not exactly a bug, but the Google Drive Integration page at https://groups.io/g/<my-group>/subintegrations has the Dropbox logo but talks about a Google Drive integration. Should be a quick fix? PS. Just clicked on the button and seems this feature isn't even available --> even quicker fix just to remove it?

Add Comments to Photos of Other Members
#suggestion
JenniferEverSews
On my doll & sewing groups the most requested change from members during the past few year is being able to add Comments to other members' posted photos.
When introduced by y***o, how quickly became a boon to those groups. It was easier for busier members to keep up with the number of emails. It concentrated the message posts down to the most important ones by nearly eliminating those that said 'your photo is nice' & the obligatory 'thanks' replies. Also turned out to be good for future research projects by keeping others' notes available with the picture long after the posting date. No need to hunt for message posts. I respectfully thank you for the ability to make the suggestion & your consideration. Jennifer

In a perfect world, I would love to have it there but able to be hidden - and that toggle be "sticky", so that the moderator (or table owner) could toggle it as needed, but the last choice would hold until it was changed again.

Thanks Bruce for the support. I am sure there are a lot of members who would appreciate a much more easier way of dealing with this issue.

.... and we're back. To be clear, I'm not aware of any actual corruption in the database, but we had a corruption warning on a query, and the recommendation was to restart the database. Thanks, Mark

I'm struggling to find that post now but I really thought it was a good idea at the time. Bruce

Hi All, I need to restart the database because of a potential corruption issue, and it cannot wait. I will take the site down in 5 minutes. It should only be down for one minute. Thanks, Mark

How about another option under Notifications for owner/mods that would send a summary of the previous 24 hours (since last summary) of the Activity Log?I like this idea, if made optional...perhaps as a new checkbox in the existing Notifications section of a Mod/Owner subscription. It seems like an expedient way to achieve most of the goals of the long-awaited "notifications overhaul" without attempting to create a separate notification for each and every group activity (which could quickly get out of hand). Activity Log summary for owner/mods
#suggestion
On GMF we've noticed recently that there have been a fair number of questions where the answer could be found by checking the Activity Log for the group. How about another option under Notifications for owner/mods that would send a summary of the previous 24 hours (since last summary) of the Activity Log? It wouldn't need to contain details, just a summary of what's happened, but might be a clue to check the details of the log. It would only need to have a line for any actions that occurred, not for all possibilities (though that's a remote possibility.) An example:
Activity Log summary for xyz group: 27 members "sent message" 12 messages were "approved" 2 messages were "rejected" 1 person "changed their display name" 1 person "left" 2 people "joined" 1 "added wiki page" 6 "updated wiki page" 3 people "added photo" and so on. Thanks, Duane

Deleting photos
#suggestion
DeniseD <denisedavidson98@...>
I need to delete older photos on a regular basis in my Group.
Now when I delete one photo from say page 9 it reverts back to Page 1 which is most annoying. Also being able to delete a batch of say 10 photos at a time would be most helpful. It would make our lives so much easier.

Situation:
I was looking for information on GMF's wiki for information on how to make a group's home page look like this group's, with "Active Topics", "New Sub-Groups", "Top Has Tags" A search for "home +page" yielded 29 results When I click on the link to page 2 or the next page arrow, I get a blank page. I have had this happen to me before, at least a couple times. I did not document if it only happens when there are only 2 pages of results but if memory serves (and I'd be skeptical of my memory), I don't recall it happening when there was more than 2 pages of results. BTW - If someone with access to the code for this group's home page could reply to me privately with a text file of it, or send me a link to the wikipage with the information on how to do it, I'd appreciate it. The user has no access to their pending message if sent via web. That’s my point.

The banner is helpful but I think the sender should really get a copy of, or access to viewing, their sent message.
