Visibility shouldn't matter for a group Owner/Moderator, but there still has to be some profile content. Specifically, if a subscriber has neither an established Display Name, nor a User Name, nor a group profile, you won't be able to find him via a Directory search...for the simple reason that there is nothing in his Directory entry by which to establish a match.

This has now been fixed. If you're an owner, you can search on all profiles now.

A further suggestion if I may... Can we get the search on the directory to work the same as on the member list please? It does some wlldcard searching on the member list but not on the directory. In the examples I gave above, my search for Adam in the directory gives me 3 results but the same search term on the member list gives me 4 (it finds the surname Adams).

This has now been fixed. If you're an owner, you can search on all profiles now.

Yes, it is designed that way, since email addresses are not visible in the directory.

I think the #cal-notice hashtag as a special notice might accomplish what I want on both counts.  I'll let you know how it works.

Having done so, this will apply to all calendar event notifications, not just birthdays and anniversaries. I agree it might be nice to be able to choose this for each event separately, as we already can for #cal-reminders.

I would also like it if there was a way to put in that member's email specifically so they would get an email for their birthday etc.  
A scheduled email to one subscriber (not the whole group) would indeed be a new feature.

Following up on what Bruce said, you could do the same with the #cal-summary hashtag (set it to special notice) and get a weekly, bi-weekly or monthly list of upcoming events sent to each member.  We use a weekly cal-summary and it lists the next 10 events. I must admit I haven't tried the bi-weekly or monthly to see if the numbers differ.

Our group uses the calendar mostly for birthdays, anniversaries, etc.  I would like an option to have the notice for the calendar sent out as an individual email to all members, not as part of a digest.  Is that possible already?  I can't see anywhere and the members I've asked who are on digest couldn't remember if it came separately or not.  I would also like it if there was a way to put in that member's email specifically so they would get an email for their birthday etc.  We used to do this manually, with a cc: for the member, but I like this automated calendar better, except for those couple of suggestions.

moderated 'Subscription Options' screen upon new subscription is a no-op #bug #fixed

When first subscribing to a group using hte "Join This Group" button on the group home page, a "Subscription Options" screen is presented with Individual/DIgest/Etc. options.  However no matter what the user selects, after clicking "Save", the subscription is set to "Individual Message" delivery as shown in the regular Subscription page.

Also, on the Subscription page, those options are called "Email Delivery", not "Subscription Options", which is confusing.

I discovered this when subscribing to beta.groups.io   Attached are screen-shots showing what I see before and after clicking "Save" on the Subscription Options page.

Mark -- Weekly works for me. A couple more things (there's always at least one more thing isn't there?)...

1) When the last attachment is deleted from a message, it still displays a paperclip icon in the Messages/Topics view. This happens whether they are deleted manually or via the attachment purge job.

2) If an attachment is deleted from a message manually (either via editing the message or deleting an image from Emailed Photos), an audit trail entry is created and the message displays an Edited tag. Attachments deleted via the attachment purge job do not.

These are just observations...I'm not proposing that they need to be acted upon.

Not sure if leslie from GMF posted this already as was suggested, but the "Find or Create a Group" function is currently broken.  Depending on the browser, the result is usually  "The page isn’t redirecting properly" or "groups.io redirected you too many times".  The link shown for that function is https://groups.io/search?p=SubsCount,,,20,2,0,0 so that leads me to believe it has to do with the updated search.

If there are previous reports of this, please delete this one.

You were right.  When figuring out if we had deleted enough attachments, we were not taking into account space used by files and photos. So we were deleting fewer attachments than we should have. I've fixed the bug and am currently doing a run.

I have not yet figured out how often to run the process that deletes attachments. I'm thinking probably once a week, unless anyone has a reason it should be run more often.
