Don't have to do that now at Yahoo!. Just click Reply to the notification email to approve, or forward to a reject address to reject - this is for messages; should be the same for members, I think.

Hi Chris, I agree but then again it's always going to have some typos
work around to it you're at the signature email and password probably in
order to do this or is there a another way of going around in doing
something like this Mark, mailman allows something somewhere but you
have to have the password and then you have to put something in the
subject line witches kind of tedious I would just rather stick to using
the web it if we have to go through the tedious putting information in
the body of the email or the subject.

Mark,

Sorry about this. It's been difficult to debug because on my Mac, I
get the filename whole. Anyways, I've made another change. Can you try
again?
Ok, that seems to have got it. Thanks!

Whoa! It's twice as big now and I can read 8 characters.

I didn't mention it before but it seemed like the problem was a lot of
"padding" around the characters, i.e. the inside margin was more than
needed. Outside box seemed big enough.

Change to the site the last couple days:

  • You can now delete attachments in the edit message screen.
  • We now respect extra spaces when displaying plain text messages.
  • When trying to log in via a social network and your account is not configured to allow it, you'll now get an email with a link to log in.
  • Fixed a bug in the quoted-printable encoder that incorrectly dealt with more than 2 spaces in a row.

Hi Jim,

If you send me off-list the name of the group and the names of the events, I can investigate.

I've increased the size of the reminder interval text box. Let me know if that fixes the size problem.

Thanks,
Mark

Hi Mark,

I created a repeating event:  8am-4pm on two consecutive days.

I set up reminders for the event.  Then I thought I might get reminders for each instance of the event, which i didn't want.  So I went to the 2nd day and deleted the reminders, and when I Updated the event, I selected Only This Event but the reminders persisted.

Bug, or user error again?  ;-)

(BTW, on Opera 12.17, the numeric field for reminders is partially hidden, as if there's not enough space to display a number (screenshot below).  The number in weeks and days is one.  If you put two digits in the box, you still see only a portion of one.)

Ok, I've changed it so that spaces should be respected for plain text
only messages. Please let me know if you see any issues with it.

As for '&amp' getting collapsed to '&', that's definitely a bug. I've logged it.

Editing a markdown message right now just edits the HTML part, as you
experienced. I've known about that, but it wasn't on the Trello board.
I've just added an entry for that.

Thanks,
Mark

And that uncovered a bug in the Message Editor. I went to edit my prior post to include a reference to message #2487 (an example with several HTML fragments) and in the editor, my text &amp; had been interpreted down to "&".

Hopefully that isn't a means to bypass any safety you have against <script> or other dangerous HTML injection.

Oops, I guess it is, judging by what happened to message #2615. The copy by email is truncated as well.

[The message editor doesn't let me edit in Markdown mode]

Mark,

Ah, right. That's because the default behavior for HTML is to collapse
multiple spaces. I just tested changing the CSS property 'white-space'
to 'pre-wrap', which would give the appropriate behavior you're
looking for (3 spaces where she inserted them). Unfortunately,
basically every email in HTML format would then be rendered
incorrectly, because everyone assumes that spaces will be collapsed.
Yes, but the message body in question is text/plain, not text/HTML, and must be treated differently. I don't know CSS or much beyond basic HTML, but surely there's a way to apply different formatting and/or some pre-processing to text/plain message bodies so that they render correctly. In fact, you must be processing those message bodies to some extent, or we'd have much greater problems with &amp; and other HTML fragments being rendered rather than displayed as plain text.

Whatever formatting/processing was applied to produce the View Source rendering of the message would be fine - the message body there shows as plain text with the spaces preserved. I would even prefer the monospaced font used in that view, though I'm sure others would prefer that to be a view preference (monospaced or proportional).
