Hmm. I just grabbed FF 36.0.4 and the buttons show up fine (on MacOS).
Anyone else having this problem?

Thanks,

It depends on the settings for the group. A wiki can be set so that
subscribers can edit, or only moderators can edit.

When a link is included to a non-existing page, it would be nice, just like
in a classic wiki if it opens a suggestion to create this new page and not
go to the home-page in a new tab.
It would be nice if one could view/edit the wiki source code or markdown
code.
Thanks for the suggestions!

Right, this is what I've been talking about when talking about the
problems with HTML quoting (and why I didn't initially enable it). The
editor code that I use is an open source project. It does many things
well. Unfortunately, it doesn't handle splitting up HTML block quotes
at all. I've been on the lookout for a better editor, but
unfortunately I have not come across one yet.

If you're replying to just one part of a message, you can highlight
the part you wish to reply to in the archived message and then hit the
reply button and only that part will be quoted.

Are you still seeing this? If so, what browser are you using?

We can quote in HTML mode now, but I haven't been able to figure out the best way to trim the quote yet.  That is, if I accidentally remove too much at the bottom, I can't seem to get out of quotation mode, and anything I type will be marked as part of the quote.  Also, if I wanted to quote a little bit of the message, reply to that, then quote a little bit more, reply to that, etc., interspersing quoted message and non-quoted message, that doesn't seem to be possible in HTML mode.

Yes, that works and is one step easier than what I've been doing, thanks!  It even has the page number bar on the bottom, so I can go back to the pages that the system defines.

In Expanded Message View in a group, you can search for a specific number, say the last one you read (or plus 1), after switching the sort order and it should jump to that as the top of the page. Is that what you're trying to do?

Mark still has "Keep track of read/unread messages on the website" on his list under "The future?" Once that's implemented, then "Jump to Last Message Read" would be a snap. If it could be saved for each group under the user name online, then there should never be a problem when switching computers.

I think "back" would only apply if you haven't signed out, but could depend on what you've been doing lately. Really depends on how you're reading, too, threaded, message, or expanded.

I personally don't see a need for "Jump to Last Message Read". Isn't that the same as right clicking for 'back'?

I wonder if there could be a floating vertical bar on the right to go to other pages, similar to the "go to top" arrow? That's probably not the best choice for those using small screens though since it takes real estate.

I'd also like to see a << and >> for navigation. To my thinking, << would be the most recent message. Does that sound right? I guess it would depend on whether the remembered sort order function is added and how you have it set.

If the bar were at the top or on the side, the third situation wouldn't happen?

On the page selector bar, a "goto page" box could come in handy sometimes.

I also mostly use the web. I have a second account set for email options so I can see how they work though.

Dano,

I noticed the one in message 2041 in my email client. It confused me at first because I thought it was Mark's message. But it was actually a member's message bottom-quoting Mark's earlier message in full.

Examination of the View Source for that message shows the ad to be a part of the message, not something displayed by Groups.io.

Sorry, I was looking for popup ads. I do see the taglines, but it's kind of

It seems to be in the poster client software.
For example the one with avast as the message was checked with avast, avg and others do the same thing..

Messages 2070, 2146 and 2185 carry an Avast tag
Message 2138 has "Free 3D Earth Screensaver"
Message 2042 and 2136 have "Just one Password..."
Messages 2011 and 2067 has "Try IM ToolPack"
Message 2041 has "Free Online Photosharing"

I'm not making this stuff up. It's on the web page. It's not huge, but they're there.
