Re: Delete Group
Frances,
Some may have said that, I can't remember, but it should at least be an option, because for example, I'm not able to be here all the time anymore like I used to, to adjust member settings when needed. I think it would be fine as an option, for the owner to choose who can have that access. Sorry if there was any confusion. Brenda

Re: Delete Group
Sorry, I thought that some earlier said that they did not want anyone apart from the owner(s) getting hold of membership lists. I am easy about that!

Hmmm. The blue line is back, maybe I just did something wrong.
Sorry about that, Brenda

No, I disagree on the members list. I need my moderators to be able to have access to that and to help me maintain the settings on the members when needed. As for not letting moderators have the ability to delete a group, I would still be fine with it if the owner selected the moderator to give that ability to. But that's why Mark would have to separate "Modify Group Settings and Delete Group" into two privileges for that, so that Delete Group would be by it self as a choice. Brenda

Problem with reply marker
Mark,
I just replied to the Delete Group thread, and there was no blue line marker that I could locate when I tried to get back to the message I had replied to. Has it disappeared again for some reason, or did I do something wrong? Brenda

Re: Delete Group
Mark, an important question.
Regarding owners disappearing, (which I know you said you will discuss at a later date), Is it ok here for us to have 2 or more than e-mail addresses subscribed as an owner? For example, In my Yahoo groups, I always had two IDs as owner in case something happened to one of them. I also frequently have JohnF be owner or Moderator of them as yet another backup. So are multiple IDs allowed to be present in an IO group as owner or moderators to give us a backup if something happens to one of the e-mail addresses? I don't make a secret of who they are, it's not like I'm pretending to be someone else. Thanks, & please let me know Brenda

Re: Wish - muted and followed for a specific group
Mark,
It's not difficult to do, really the thing I'm trying to figure out isYou could model it on the way it is done at the main page. At a group's pages the Messages and HashTags in the sidebar could show the list of all messages and hashtags (as they do now). If the member has any followed or muted threads then the Messages tab could grow Muted and/or Followed sub-tabs. Clicking one of those shows the appropriate subset in the Threads, Messages, or Expanded views. Likewise for HashTags. Though in the case of HashTags it looks like there's plenty of room for a Followed column and a Muted column in a group's Hashtags list, and if those column headings were sortable it isn't clear that the subset tabs would be needed. Speaking of the main page, its Hashtags could use the [Threads] link found in the group's Hashtag list. And again maybe columns for Muted and Followed instead of sub-tabs would be more facile to use, so long as all columns are sortable. Does there need to be any difference, other than the Group column, between the Hashtags list on the main page and on a Groups' page? Going back to messages, I'd almost suggest that Muted and Followed just be columns in the thread/message list too. There are only two columns now. But those lists seem busy enough (with the content snippet, author, and message count), and I expect those lists to be much longer, so in this case the sub-tabs may be more facile to use. Or am I looking at things sideways again? -- Shal

Hi Mark, for the goodbye message item, is there any type of message that is being sent, i.e. rejection message?

Re: Pending members
On Fri, Feb 13, 2015 at 5:47 AM, Duane <txpigeon@...> wrote: I've been playing with this area this morning. One thing I would like to see added to the Pending members page is a reject button with a predefinable (is that even a word?) message to be included. One of my groups is restricted to paying members of our club. I'd like a Reject to include information on how they could join, maybe even a file attachment. I was surprised there wasn't a reject message; clearly an oversight on my part. You can now specify a Reject message which will be sent if you reject a pending subscription. I also noticed that if I declined to let them (actually my "user" account) join they were sent the Goodbye message, even though they'd never really been a member. Having the separate Reject option should take care of that. This has been fixed. Thanks, Mark

I've changed it so that all member notices (welcome/pending/leave/etc) are now HTML and when editing/creating them, you get the HTML editor. Thanks, Mark
