They are still there in the text/plain; markup=markdown part of the message body, but not in the text/html.

It converted it to a link. There's a rule about allowing some types of inline HTML. It may have thought that was what was happening. Or the part that tries to create links out of things that it thinks should be links may have done the deed (the library I'm using is https://github.com/russross/blackfriday if you're curious.

And I frequently reply to an entire message with comments in between, but only if I really feel I need the whole message. So I understand it's legal.;)

I just realized that I have not gotten any mail that I
have sent to my -owner address for a couple of weeks.

And someone sent mail that the welcome files are not
going out either.

So I have pending members that I don't know if they got
files and we didn't get the response - or if they never
got the files. I've resorted to sending a castrated
version of the file as a message to the people, and seeing
if they can reply to me.

Oh yes - if I try to send out mail from the web site as
the -owner, it gives an error message. But I can send
as me (better anyway if the whole -owner stuff is
broken).

Anyone else finding this? Or is it our group only?

If you see this twice, I'm going to send it to the groups.io
beta list also, but not as a cc.

I got a couple of messages from the beta group last night, at 8:20
and 8:33 CST, even though I have No Email chosen. One showed as
being to me with a CC: to the group, the other was the opposite.
Nothing since. I can't be sure, but it looked like I was following
the thread, even though I've never chosen that. Was there a hiccup
in the system?

Many email providers do this. I used to think there was nothing I could do
to circumvent this, but in the course of building support for edited
messages, I found a way, and it's not difficult. If there's demand, I could
add this feature. Would you want this on a per-subscription basis, or for
all your subscriptions?

If you want a copy you have to send it from the groups webpage (or
maybe from a third party app like the one I'm using). Gmail won't add
duplicate messages when emailed from Gmail. So even though it appears
to come from the group, Gmail knows it came from you and that message
is already in your archives. So it cannot duplicate it.

If missing the quoted text while reading on the website in
single-message or expanded view mode, there's a shortcut to view the
thread, which helps you figure out what the person is writing about.

I don't know if there is a similar link in the mails that are sent out,
individually or in digest form, but it might be available with a couple
of clicks if not.

You know, you're right.

You all know me, I almost ALWAYS trim my replies, and quote what I wanted to respond to. The only time I don't is if I'm in a huge hurry, and something HAS to be replied to right away...such as before I raced to the hospital when my dad went in.

One thing I noticed Brenda doing was replying to messages that were old enough to be several pages back on the message list, then being taken to the most recent message on the message list after posting the reply (that is, the reply itself).  There's no blue bar in that case, and changing the page to find the original message doesn't show the blue bar, either.
