Google calendar is similar. You just create a monthly event on the appropriate day in the current month (today is the last Wednesday in February, for example), and it provides the two choices shown in the attached screencap.

Yesterday (Wednesday) we got an early digest because we were busy at 8:36 PM EST, but we never received the 3 AM digest on Thursday morning.  We always get that early AM digest.  Instead, just now we got a digest at 6:07 PM EST, which included the messages that should have been sent out early this morning.  This is the first time this has happened.  I hope it won't be repeated because it delays the posting of messages.

You can achieve this with a bit of playing around.  Here are the steps I used for something similar (working from today's date):

  • Create an event on Tuesday March 24th (that's the 4th Tuesday - trust me)
  • Set the following: Repeats: Monthly; Repeat every: 1; Repeat by day of the week
  • Save the event
  • Go through the calendar and for any event that is not on the last Tuesday:
  • Edit the event and change the date to the last Tuesday (March, June, September & December)
  • Click the Update Event button and select on this event.
Any event where you change the date is effectively taken out of the repeating series so if you need to update any other details, you need to do them individually.

Hopefully this helps until we get a better solution.

Looks to me like it's only removing the headers, not the actual column contents.

It's a bit more complex than what I thought was a missing column header.

In Map View, all columns are show despite the ID and Updated columns having the hidden checkbox set. All column buttons at the bottom are blue.

In List View, the ID and Updated values are still show on the screen, but the column headings are not. The ID and Updated columns buttons at the bottom are greyed out.  As the ID column header is not displayed so the others are shifted left by one column so everything is out of line.

I don't remember where but I have seen it done programatically by allowing the 5th Xday to be chosen and then interpreting it as the 4th when there is no 5th.

That would be handy, as the user's email address is the primary
identifier. It would save the extra effort of searching in the Members
list then clicking through to the member's profile.

Ok, for mods and owners, the directory search now also includes email addresses.

Thanks,

As Bruce has mentioned to me off-group, The memberlist search with its implied wildcard is at odds with searches in messages where a wildcard character is needed to avoid just whole word searches. The activity log search appears to be the same also. Whichever way they work, I think they should be consistent.

I don't think it should for non mods/owners.
Definitely not.

A further suggestion if I may... Can we get the search on the directory to work the same as on the member list please? It does some wlldcard searching on the member list but not on the directory. In the examples I gave above, my search for Adam in the directory gives me 3 results but the same search term on the member list gives me 4 (it finds the surname Adams).

Right now the member directory search does not search email addresses, even for mods/owners. Should it? I don't think it should for non mods/owners.

If you lock a topic, and the topic has a hashtag, and then you click on that hashtag anywhere, the topic appears in the hashtag search but the lock icon does not appear. I just went through re-locking a bunch of topics that I thought I'd already locked, and it turned out that I HAD already locked them. It's just that when looking for them by clicking on any hashtag they have, the locked icon had disappeared.

This should be fixed now.

moderated Add Numeric Type to Databases

Bob Morley

I would like to see a numeric type added to the data types supported in a database. Sorting in numeric order does not work if using a text data type. For example, text sorts numbers as 1, 10, 2, 3, 4 and so on.

This should include support for both integer and floating numbers. Sort must be a numeric sort.

Ditto- except to appear on days of the month, not dates.
First and Third Sunday for instance.
When I set up monthly repeats it defaults to the 'date' used and then applies it to a week day- not pretty.
