Yes.

As I understand it the primary motivation for making an HTML digest is to enable the list of topics at the top to be formatted as links to the start of each thread within the digest. Likewise, one can then have "back to top" as one of the per-message links. Such links cannot be made in plain text.

It also makes other per-message functions less obtrusive (a short text rather than a long ugly URL).

The formatting of the message content (HTML within the original message bodies) I think should be stripped even when the digest structure is implemented in HTML. Otherwise the content of the digest could become very difficult to read.

Maybe have the HTML Digest be an option set by moderators.
I don't think there's any need for moderator control of that at the group level. But I wouldn't object to the moderator being able to adjust a member's control, through their Membership page, just as the moderator can adjust a member's other subscription settings.

Hi Terry,
You have to add that email address to your group, set it to no mail, set it as a moderator giving it permission to do things with your members section of your group and other things, then send an email to support@groups.io letting them know the name of your yahoo group you added the transfer address too as well as the name of the group you're trying to get them transferred too that is on Groups.io. Then you just got to wait till the transfer is completed.

I'm ready to transfer my group to io, but can't see how to do it. I invited transfer@groups.io to join my group - but how does transfer@groups.io actually join? I can't add the address - Yahoo won't let me. So now what? (feeling rather dumb for not having followed this thread from the beginning.)

This afternoon, a few domains were having problems accepting emails. bellsouth.net and a couple others. I've seen gmail get backed up before, although I don't know if they were today. That did not affect delivery of other emails.

You can always check your email delivery history to see if we're having problems delivering email to you. Note that it can take up to 2 minutes for us to timeout trying to deliver an email. So if you hit post from the website, and then immediately check your email delivery history, if your email service is slow or having problems, it could take up to 2 minutes for that to show up.

I have thought about adding a status.groups.io page that would list domains and current stats about delivery to them. Would that be useful? I'd need help deciding which stats to report.

I think it was be great.  By doing that, we can prove that it’s our ISP and not Groups.io .  Most ISP’s don’t want to admit they are the ones having problems.

I think a link to switch is fine.. A switch back also ?

and  if you decide on link option  would the access to  switch  be given only to moderators ?
 I prefer  only moderators . I don't want my members  switching or even seeing the switch method..

Thank you for all that you do  to make the experience with , io groups  the best it can be..

I'd want that option.

Yahoo removed the option from the web pages during the Neo redesign, but it lingers (and works) as an undocumented email command.

Yes, Fully Featured versus Traditional. You could go with Active, Linked, Formatted, or Fancy versus Plain.

locked reports of text wrapping from member using aol

 

I'm not sure whether Groups.io has any control over this, but a member using aol reports that she can't read posts in email because of the text wrapping. She says this didn't happen in Yahoo Groups. Can anything be done for her and others using aol?

But I would ask, if a moderator creates a file  would  mod and members  receive a notice about it.

Email from the group may not be instantaneous. You also have all the other servers that it has to go through to get to your service, then to your computer. A glitch anywhere along the way will cause a delay. (I think 10 minutes is pretty fast, but I was on dial-up @ 43k until a few years ago. ;>) If you need real time, you'd be better off using a chat program.
