Yes, this feature would be welcome & helpful for my groups as well.
Thank you Denise for posting it.  Thank you to Mark for considering the possibility.

In a perfect world, I would love to have it there but able to be hidden - and that toggle be "sticky", so that the moderator (or table owner) could toggle it as needed, but the last choice would hold until it was changed again.

Thanks Bruce for the support.  I am sure there are a lot of members who would appreciate a much more easier way of dealing with this issue.

I agree that this behavior is annoying, and retaining the existing query string upon page refresh doesn't seem like it would be too difficult to implement.

Also being able to delete a batch of say 10 photos at a time would be most helpful.
This might take a little more work. :-)

Shal once made a suggestion to the effect that there be a page that displays all group photos in table format and have them sortable by their metadata entries (owner/uploaded/taken/containing folder/etc), along with a row of checkboxes on the left and an Actions menu of some kind so bulk actions could easily be performed. I'm struggling to find that post now but I really thought it was a good idea at the time.

I like this idea, if made optional...perhaps as a new checkbox in the existing Notifications section of a Mod/Owner subscription.

It seems like an expedient way to achieve most of the goals of the long-awaited "notifications overhaul" without attempting to create a separate notification for each and every group activity (which could quickly get out of hand).

On GMF we've noticed recently that there have been a fair number of questions where the answer could be found by checking the Activity Log for the group.  How about another option under Notifications for owner/mods that would send a summary of the previous 24 hours (since last summary) of the Activity Log?  It wouldn't need to contain details, just a summary of what's happened, but might be a clue to check the details of the log.  It would only need to have a line for any actions that occurred, not for all possibilities (though that's a remote possibility.)  An example:

Activity Log summary for xyz group:

27 members "sent message"
12 messages were "approved"
2 messages were "rejected"
1 person "changed their display name"
1 person "left"
2 people "joined"
1 "added wiki page"
6 "updated wiki page"
3 people "added photo"
and so on.

Thanks,
Duane

This should be fixed now.

I have had this happen to me before, at least a couple times.
I did not document if it only happens when there are only 2 pages of results but if memory serves (and I'd be skeptical of my memory), I don't recall it happening when there was more than 2 pages of results.

BTW - If someone with access to the code for this group's home page could reply to me privately with a text file of it, or send me a link to the wikipage with the information on how to do it,  I'd appreciate it.

The user has no access to their pending message if sent via web. That’s my point.

The answers are easy enough to find by looking at the web UI after a suitable delay where moderation is in force*. And if you posted by email then look in your Sent Items folder. :)

The last one actually comes up more often than you might think because not all Moderators are as Johnny-on-the-spot as the Moderators of this group.
In the group only the first post in any topic is moderated anyway, unless something has changed.

The banner is helpful but I think the sender should really get a copy of, or access to viewing, their sent message.

Actually, you can set your Items Per Page in your account to anything other than infinite scroll (20, 50, 100) and it shows that number.  I'm not sure why I.S. has never worked in databases.

I know this was brought up here in January, but I just noticed that when searching for something in the files of our group, this applies to files as well: Infinite scroll is not possible. If you choose "infinite scroll" you are set back to 20. We have many folders with some hundred files and databases and it´s quite tedious to have a choice up to 100 but not to be able to scroll infinitely.

If this was brought up in beta I suppose it got lost again like so many proposals.

For our dog rescue group, we find the ID number very useful in that it provides integrity for our information, and it gives us an automatic count of the number of dogs that we rescue each year. I would really prefer giving people the option of hiding the ID column and also having the ability to choose a default  'sort-by' column.
Thank you!

Yes, that would need to be added. And that’s the feature that I requested originally, and which I think would be the most useful, since currently, web posters have no record of a pending message. I requested that feature nearly a year ago. All of which, combined, is why I said at nearly the top of this thread that the feature would require fairly massive changes to the UI, just in the service of letting the sender change their mind.
I would still press for giving senders a copy (either via web or email) of their web-posted pending messages. The rest seems to have diminishing returns, but I certainly wouldn’t object to any of it.

As part of the change, a feature would need to be added to show a web-using member the list of posts pending approval to which moderation comments could be attached. (Moderators could even use this feature to attach comments for other moderators to pending messages.)

For members using mail, they couldn't just reply to their own mail out of the sent box, as Groups.io couldn't tell the difference between that being a moderation comment or a new message reply. So, there'd either need to be a "Your message is being moderated" notice sent that could be replied to to add comments, or we could decide that this feature is little-used enough that a mail user could just send a generic to-the-moderators email not attached to a specific message (which can be done now).
