p.s. It also makes me wonder, if photos are moderated, what will happen when duplicate photos come in via email replies. You would not want to force the same photo to be approved 10 times in a row. Or

I like the moderation idea but I think we're now talking about apples and oranges. My thought was that the option to "notify group" would be by the member posting the photo, in case they wanted to

This is where I'd like to see the ability to have these (and databases, calendar, etc.) be moderated. Then they'd need approval before anyone could see them (or they could be rejected or deleted.)

Yes, I see now that you're asking for something different. An optional "notify the group" would not solve your problem. Maybe if we're extra nice to Mark we can have both! ;)

We'd be happy with just notifications to moderators. While we've had very few problems in 15-odd years at Yahoo, things that are sneaked into the files or photos without our knowledge could be

I would love optional group-notification of photo uploads, as well, but for the opposite reason: people post photos of their cats to share with group members, but it doesn't really get shared because

what does 'confirmation' accomplish?
I've noticed that 'NC' appears next to a pending member only if the pending member is not already a member of groups.io at all. If they are already in some other group besides the one they have

We're well aware of the shortcomings. While I may not be a "sophisticated user" I'm fairly experienced. In fact unless they are older than me (85 & 11/12)and started their hardware/software careers

Can you side-step it by creating additional accounts (transfer1, transfer2, transfer3, ...)? That may get a little tedious to manage, but I'm sure you'll figure out

It's a list we we want members viewing but not copying, it's very large.
By setting file properties in Adobe we can prevent saving and printing.
