I have nothing against cats, or elephants for that matter, but I would much prefer that plumber.

That's because Download (and Bulk Remove) is its own tab, not controlled by the selection on the first tab.
For that wouldn't you need an export of the Activity log instead? Or in a Premium

I would venture that it is a group owner's responsibility to be aware, which means paying attention to the beta and GMF topics. That then allows the owner(s) to warn their members. I've done this
