What a great find. I tried "som" and it found all that have an "s" anywhere in the email and end in "om". It did not pick up on a name with s in it.
Then I tried "pam" to find "Paige" and

Typing tom seems to bring up all those with a t anywhere and ending .com
Typing gom, jom etc seems to bring up all those with a go, jo etc anywhere and ending .com

While that will work for Display names, it doesn't include email addresses. Unless/until Mark has a chance to figure out what's going on, try including the search term in quotes - "tom".

Try Tom*.
I do quite a lot of searches in one of my groups for TV model numbers.
I always have to add a * wildcard at the end as quite often extra
characters are at the end, eg 21AX2100EZ may only

I have just done the same in 2 groups; one of 1977 members and another of 43. The first produced 740 returns and the second 17.
What is perhaps even weirder is that these represent 37.4% and 39.5% of

I have often found "weidness" in search results which I could not explain. The search for "tom" is the wildest, but the cause of its returning so many false positives may explain others.

I did a download on the members and searched through the csv file for the string tom and got no hits. So there is nothing in the data that would trigger this search. Searching for the string "com"
