Thank you, this is a huge relief! Our group of only around 150 people has three Suzannes, three Susans, and one Sue, and strangely, many of them see to post around the same time, and in the same conversations. I'd added their last initials to their names but they weren't showing up, and it was getting to be super-confusing!

It's working as you describe now. Before for some reason - after I clicked "update profile" it didn't show the new photo. I only saw it when i went to the profile again.

I just tried it again and it worked fine.

I think we've lost access to some information, in that case. I do think it still makes sense to show this. Otherwise we're stuck with the "oracle" method - we have to go to each group individually and see if they're there. Is that what you're saying? Is there now no way to click on a member's profile and see what groups they're subscribed to, without going through each group and looking for them? Being able to see which groups someone in had been very helpful before.

Maybe when you upload and save a pic you should see a preview after you have uploaded it before you click save and after.

Not sure I understand what you're seeing. When I go in, I hit the 'Browse' button, which brings up the dialog. I select a photo, that closes the dialog and displays the selected photo. At this point, the photo isn't saved, you have to click the 'Update Profile' button at the bottom of the page. That saves the changes and puts up a little box at the top of the page saying the changes have been saved.

Are you seeing a different sequence?

Right, and not even as a default. Because you're viewing profiles on a per subscription basis, I didn't think it made sense to display all the groups you're subscribed to.

Yes. Mark must have fixed that very quickly. It was happening in all groups before.

I am seeing that you click on directory, click on a member and you are brought to your "Your Groups" page.

New bug: Click on directory, click on a member, goes to home page of the group instead of the member's profile.

Thanks for the bug reports and suggestions. Paging is fixed, sorting is fixed, permissions are fixed. There's now a per-group option to turn on/off the directory as well.

Thanks,
Mark

What I meant was that no groups are shown. But that also now seems to be missing in profiles in general. Is this on purpose?

Very confused about what's happening.

When you add a new picture to your profile ( i just did in a subgroup of our test group) you upload the picture and save but you don't see a preview of it after you've saved. Also, if you have suggestions for UI improvements for the member directory, that'd be appreciated as well.

Ok, seeing it in our test group on desktop now.

I like the layout both on desktop and mobile. I wouldn't make it vertical on desktop, but like that it's vertical on mobile.

I'd make sure it's infinite scroll on mobile - and I'd probably prefer infinite scroll for that on desktop too, or 100 or so members per page would be nice.

I'd add a "Search" feature so that one can search for another member.

I'd make sure that members who are not mods or owners cannot see full email addresses when a member doesn't have a profile/display name set up. Otherwise we are making the member list visible.... (i'll check this with a non owner account - but not sure based on what J is seeing and what i am getting when i go to the one in beta, that i could access it yet.

I think this will be even cooler when/if it is linked to the option of DM'ing someone via the directory - but love that we now have this.

And as mentioned, I think we need an option to enable and disable it in groups we want/ don't want it in and for that to make it disappear from the menu.

Thank you!

Maria

Perhaps non-owners or non-mods are not supposed to have access to the directory? But in that case, I think they shouldn't have access to the button in the sidebar and then be told they can't see it.

Checked further, and turns out I'm not allowed access to the directory for any group I don't own, whether I'm moderated in the group or not.
