I'm not able to reproduce this. Please send a message to support@groups.io, with the name of the group and the email address of the moderator who cannot access that page.

How would this work for events that have a max number of attendees and a waitlist? That is, say I RSVP for an event with a +1. Others then also RSVP and there's a waitlist. What if I want to bump up my +1 to a +2? Or if I remove my +1, so there's now one spot that can go to a waitlisted person, but the first person on the waitlist has a +1 (so would need 2 spots)?

Hi All,

Moderation of photos is definitely on the TODO list, but I'm not sure when it will be done (it's a significant amount of work).

Thanks,

Fixed.

Yep. Just send a message to support@groups.io from the email address you'd like to delete and I'll take care of it.

Thanks,

Hi,

I know this subject was earlier in this forum, but  how to delete an groups.io profile?
I cannot find it in the profile options when logged in.
Or is this not possible?

Kind regards, Marten

The "group help" email (the email someone gets back by sending an email to [groupname]+help@groups.io) does not currently include instructions for the "subscribe to daily summary" option, nor does it take into account whether or not the group disallows no-email (it simply gives instructions for how to subscribe with no email). Seems to need some updating.

moderated Allow moderation of Photos?

Ginny T.

Would it be possible to allow moderation of photos, in the same way that messages are moderated? I'm not talking about the general group settings of "allow or not", or the specific album permissions of who (all or owner) can add to the album -

I mean when a member uploads a photo ( to any album), it's held in moderation until it is approved (or rejected). We have some specific guidelines for photo posting in the group I'm moving, and there are members that  are seemingly oblivious, no matter how much general help and/or 1 on 1 help is offered. The only way thing that helped was to moderate photos. A simple "approve or reject" would be wonderful... (and I know that "simple" is relative).

Please and thanks?

Ginny

I'm not sure I agree with the theory (although it may have validity), but you can currently "delete" a message without "rejecting" it and the member never knows it.

It would be good for a held message to be approved by moderators : Approve, Abstain, Reject.
If the message has been held (circulated) and no-one votes then Reject after say two weeks.
(Two weeks is good for me)

It may be good to have a Remark or Reason field which could be sent as a reject note. :
. Your message was moderated and no-one approved.
. Your message is Off-Topic.

I've run into a similar situation a time or two. I can't quite decide if the message should be
posted, rejected, or deleted. As group owner, I sometimes claim it until I've had time to think it
over. Until I got assistants, I just left them pending (and they went away in 2 weeks if I didn't do
something, making my decision for me.)

moderated Site updates #changelog

Change to the site this week:

  • INTERNAL: Lots of work to support recurring payments.
  • BUGFIX: Several bugs with the Google Drive authentication and integration.
  • BUGFIX: In chats, we would always link to someone's profile, even when the permissions didn't allow viewing of the profile (the profile was never viewable in those cases, the user would be redirected elsewhere).
  • NEW: Added new list view to calendar to list upcoming events for the next month.
  • CHANGE: Updated the logged-out home page with a new tag line and description of the service. Also tightened up some margins/formatting on mobile.
  • INTERNAL: Removed some extra code that didn't actually do anything except generate bogus error logs when a message with attachments was edited.
  • CHANGE: When parsing email parts, ignore bogus 'charset=binary' parameter, which was causing us to delete attachments.

Have a good weekend everybody.

thanks for looking into this so promptly. i have tested a couple files so far and everything looks to be working as we expected....we are in the process of moving from YA**o Groups and were trying to learn all we could before bringing all our members over.

That makes complete sense and 'claiming' is a great solution! Still not what Joseph seems to be talking about. But if it is, I agree with you and Maria that the claiming mechanism fills the bill.
