I would never want my archives tampered with, disabled or other. That's my personal preference. Otherwise, why bother having an on-site group interface? I prefer to do everything on the web site

I think a group should always allow a member to delete his/her own posts, without moderator intervention. That would be in keeping with the principle that the member owns his/her content,

Yes - which is why spelling out at least the first 3 letters
of the month, and using a 4-digit year - would work for any
date. 13-MAY-2015 = MAY-13-2015 = 2015-MAY-13 = 2015-13-MAY.
