I had this happen to me a couple of times before, and it seems something is getting cached somewhere, because I can log out of GIO, restart the browser, login back to GIO, and it's gone.

Did you check your activity log to see if possibly someone applied for membership, and then unsubscribed before you acted on the application? That can happen, but if so, the pending member count

I don't think it does that (at least, I'm not seeing it). But I wish it did. You can see it anyway if you bcc. I also wish that private replies would display the recipient's email address without

Add tags feature does not work when editing pending plan text messages

Hi Mark,
when editing a plan text pending message, the -- Add Tags -- drop-down field does not add the selected tag to the subject line like it does when editing HTML messages.

I think the key phrase in that statement is that groups.io will comply "where applicable." I don't think anyone would interpret that to include email addresses in an email mailing list group.

It's perfectly possible to belong to a group just to read messages. The Directory allows members to contact others without knowing their email address. There's nothing in the documentation to say that

Actually they don’t need to worry about that anyway because users would only see it if they’re in the directory or if they post. So as Duane said originally, all they have to do is opt out of the

They can opt out of the directory and would also have to opt out of creating a profile/userID, which also lets you email them. I don't find this problematic as long as it's documented.

The directory allows members to provide certain details in their profile about themselves to other members and be contacted by them. It's up to them how much detail they wish to provide but the

If someone joins a group to read messages only they should not have their personal details revealed by someone else (who may not be a Mod with access to the member list) due to a quirk of the

In fact my only complaint about it would be that in a private reply, you can't see the email address a priori. I always worry that it went to the wrong person.
