Digests are generated for every 12 messages sent to a group. That has not changed. Digests were also generated at 10:30pm Pacific Time nightly, if one had not been generated in the previous 6

I do like the ability to hide!
However, when hiding, say, the ID column only the ID’s on the current page are hidden. If you select another page, the ID’s show until they’re hidden and so on

Probably by design. It sounds to me like you may not understand how the digests work. Not everyone will get a digest at the same time. It all depends on which messages they choose to receive in it

I've checked both boxes to hide the ID and Updated columns but they still show when I view my database.
As an aside, when in list mode,the column header for the Updated column is missing.

I don't remember where but I have seen it done programatically by allowing the 5th Xday to be chosen and then interpreting it as the 4th when there is no 5th.
