No trick for me as my eMail client can only post in plain text. It has a rendering engine built in to display HTML reasonably accurate.

I agree. If we, the moderators, are doing the rejection we should have full control of the message. It could be for a number of reasons, ie a full-out rejection as in go away, or a "soft" rejection

On a Mac, “Paste and Match Style" is the easily remembered Shift-Option-Flower-V command. :-)
To be serious, I haven’t laundered text through a text editor in a decade or so.

If considered, it should be optional with a default of disabled; or limited to only the subgroups that user is subscribed to. Many groups with subgroups use them for specific members, not everyone in

An old trick is to copy and paste from complexly formatted documents into a text editor like notepad or Emacs, then recopy and paste from the text editor to strip out formatting.
