Yep I do that all the time. In fact my professors still recommend that at the university where I went to school a few years ago.

An old trick is to copy and paste from complexly formatted documents into a text editor like notepad or Emacs, then recopy and paste from the text editor to strip out formatting.

There is an option to make a photo folder "private" but there does not seem to be a corresponding feature for files, or am I missing something? This would seem like a logical inclusion in file

I did some further checking. By inserting that one line without a number, it stopped the numbering and started over when the next paragraph was started. It looks to me like the correct thing to do

There is a reason WYSIWYG is supposed to be just that and most of us, including those such as myself with decades of computing experience, rely on it to be just that.

It looks to me like it did work generally. Where the 'error' occurred is where some text was inserted using a different font. In viewing the source, it shows a span to yet another font, then closes

Well, tested elsewhere and am having the same issue. Afterward I changed just one thing, the line break to separate out the italic phrase regarding returning to step 2. Now, inexplicably, when I cut

The behavior of the Groups.io compose is the same whether the source for the cut material is .docx, straight .htm., or filtered .html.

I can only report what my personal experience has been.
I cannot count the number of times I've done direct cut and paste operations for numbered or bulleted lists out of MS-Word and into the compose
