If there are only some members who would like them turned off, they can mute the hashtag #cal-reminder (all reminders are sent with that hashtag).

To mute a hashtag, go to https://groups.io/mutedhashtags and click on ‘+ Mute A New Hashtag’ link in the top right corner. Then enter #cal-reminder for the hashtag.

It occurs to me that this is exceptionally difficult to figure out for people who just want to mute something. I need to add links in the message footers.

Thanks,
Mark

There is an option for the calendar in settings for each group. I don't know if that will help but there is an off option in the calendar in there. Steph

As far as I can tell from testing, you can turn them off for the group by deleting them from the event, but can't turn them off for individuals.

I’m unable to reproduce this. Can you send me off-list the exact steps you took and what happened?

Thanks,

Yeah, I noticed that with our little situation this morning, which I obviously won't go into here.

Glad, by the way, to see you up here on the list!

And, on another note, when you unsubscribe a banned member, they are also removed from the banned list. SO you have to reinstate them. This is not right either.

Trish,
Direct add is only available on paid groups.

Chris,
You need to see the thread about polls for info on getting your group in the beta program. Basically, you just send an email to Mark with the name of the group. He will set a flag on your group so you can test new features before they're launched to all groups.

I apologize, I'd gotten out of the habit of posting these. Here are some of the changes to the site recently:

  • NEW: Launched polls.
  • BUGFIX: Ignore certificate problems when fetching RSS feeds.
  • NEW: Bulk send bounce probes in members view.
  • CHANGE: Reply button -> Send button.
  • NEW: In Files section, display counts of folder contents, and update folders when changes inside them happen.
  • NEW: Direct add now looks more like invite, displaying the message interactively.
  • NEW: Launched new URL structure, along with most of the internal changes needed for subdomains.
  • CHANGE: Removed all table-bordered and table-striped for a cleaner look on the website.
  • BUGFIX: In email headers, ignore a Reference if it matches the Message-ID of the email.
  • NEW: Added ability for groups to have beta features.

Have a good weekend everybody!

Mark

Where is direct add? All I can seem to find is invite.

Are you trying to insert a new line in a quoted part of an email (where there’s a vertical line on left side)? If so, that’s a known issue that I hope to have fixed soon.

Thanks,

About poll. Some ideas with this service: http://updwn.co/ "See what everybody thinks. Updwn lets you make simple, beautiful, real-time polls."

  • Up or Down (+1 0 or -1)
  • Realtime with possibility to add new option. But no notification of the news options

I just tried to insert a line in message I was editing.   When I hit Control + Enter simultaneously nothing happened.   I'll try doing that again now (pause).

Answer:  Nope, nuttin'. It's possible the system has inserted an INVISIBLE line because I think there's now a new line return. And after I clicked save in the message I was editing, no line showed up.

Is this operator error or a bug?
