group setting “moderate all messages with attachments
#suggestion
We constantly have members sending the wrong kind of attachments (we allow only pdfs for cat labwork and they’re always sending unreadable jpgs, etc). We also have a specific naming convention for labwork that makes it easy to sort and search through in the cat labs folders for each cat. Meanwhile, the wrong types and/or wrong names come in and I have to ask people to resend correctly, resulting in multiple copies and possible later deletions (assuming I even get around to it), unpleasant onlist conversations, etc.
So today I found myself wishing for a group setting that forces all messages with attachments to go through moderation. That would really ease this headache. -- J Messages are the sole opinion of the author, especially the fishy ones. My humanity is bound up in yours, for we can only be human together. - Desmond Tutu

Use word-wrap in Subject line in Pending message displays
#suggestion
Mark -- In the message archive, long subject lines are displayed for reading with word-wrap. It would be nice if this could be done for Pending messages, too. As it is, the name and posting date/time scroll off the screen to the right.

It does and you also mentioned that you didn't want to download, but you also mentioned 'extract' which implies that you do - hence the confusion. As the columns in a table are user-defined and none can currently be defined as an email address I'm not sure how that would work. Perhaps something more along the lines of keeping track of who adds rows to the table and providing a facility to email those like we currently have for contacting responders to an RSVP event? That would negate the need for a column in the database to hold an email address. It would also ensure that messages sent are going to verified addresses. Regards Andy

If a member can see it, they should be able to cut-and-paste the data. If you're looking for something else, I guess I'm not getting it yet, either. Regards, Bruce

Moving from Files to Photos
#suggestion
David
Because of some Yahooisms, members of our group had uploaded imagery into files.
It would save bandwidth, out & back, and time, if there was a direct scheme to move photos from Files to Photos. (Also, I don't find a list of acceptable image types. .jpg of course, but there's a slew of others from .gif to .tiff, svg etc. And what about photos in a PDF?)

Instructions for photo uploaders
#suggestion
David
I'm trying to better organize the photo albums.
It would be nice I could write a few sentences the photo uploading member would see before they actually upload; it would say thing such as "When setting the Album's name, remember to do XY & Z"

Searching albums vs. photos
#suggestion
David
So I'm working on cleaning up the photo and file chaos err archives we brought over from Yahoo before its euthanasia.
First step is renaming the Photo Albums to be more consistent. But searches show me both Albums names and individual photos. It would help if there was a way to specify Albums vs. photos in a search.

I only get gio digests. Single emails take too much time for my cluttered mind to process. Actually, it's not just gio that is being tossed. I've had to retrieve much more from spam than usual.

Definitely not just the digest. I’d say about a quarter of today’s posts landed in my spam.
