Problem is not fixed. Some messages go through all the way and others are cut off mid sentence. No telling which ones. A moderator on another list offered the advice below.

Yes, you just have to keep hitting “save” and reopen it and look to see if it saved or got cut off. One thing I’ve been doing is to copy the edited text before hitting save. That way, if I go back to it and find it’s been cut off, I don’t need to do any re-editing but can just paste in the edited text, and hit save again. Usually the second save is the one that takes. Occasionally, it takes 3 tries.
It is time-consuming!

Pretty ironic (or self-referential?) I just noticed that my own signature in the message where I confirmed the bug was truncated. Fixed now. :)

Here's an example, which you can find in CatladysTestGroup. Autosig reads: test long signature line 1 etc etc etc line 2 etc etc etc line 3 etc etc etc Sig as appearing in posted message: test long signature line 1 etc etc etc< -- J Messages are the sole opinion of the author, especially the fishy ones.

It just took me five or six tries to amend the bottom line of a group member's signature, both within an edit of her message and within the auto-sig itself after changing that. It kept losing the last four fifths of the last line. I finally got it to work by adding a blank line after the last one.
I just tested this in my test group: changed the third line of an auto-sig, posted a message, and the third line of the auto-sig was nearly gone and what was left of it was gibberish. -- J Messages are the sole opinion of the author, especially the fishy ones.

This was reported by people in my group and has been reported by other groups through the Group Manager's Forum, but I didn't see it here and wanted to report this.
Messages sent through email seem to go through (so I am doing that here since my message was rejected on GMF because it was incomplete.)
Messages created through groups.io are being truncated before they are posted. Sometimes just a few words, but enough to be problematic.
Is this the right forum to report this?

Yes, it's the job of the user. But it's not the job of most groups.io members trying to post a message. And (in my opinion) it's not the job of group owners to educate their members in all of this. Members could care less, assuming they could even understand it. It's not a bug. It's not a feature. It's just the way it is. Which is why I tell my group members to avoid copy/pasting.

It's not the job of a web input form to accept every proprietary format out there. It's the job of the user to put it in plain text first and there are a thousand ways to do that up to and including using Word itself to save the file as txt file first. Best, Glenn --

Sure, a one-liner works fine. The problem is with line and paragraph breaks. Try a document with several paragraphs.

Our experience differs. This is a paste from Word. I do it all the time and it works well enough for me.

When I'm composing a draft, before I leave the composition page I select all and copy. Then I make sure after leaving that the draft has been saved. If it hasn't (which has only happened a couple of times), I simply paste the contents of the clipboard.
