It's OK, don't feel too bad about it ... just give us a few more treats to make up for it when you come back and that should make everyone feel better.

As usual I was the canary in the coal mine! You probably thought we wouldn’t notice lol. Yes, everything is fine now. The email came in a couple of minutes ago, 20 minutes late. :-)

There seems to be a bug this morning with emailing messages. My last message to the group, sent via email, successfully posted to the group at 9:30 a.m. but has not come through my email yet. I'm FO (which now includes AutoFollowReplies so I should have received it). My email delivery history shows my last message received at 9:10 a.m. (that would be Andy's message about links to all topics started by members, to which I replied) and is showing no bounces.

I had to turn off email delivery from one of the email servers because a bug was being triggered, causing it to crash repeatedly. I fixed it, and things should be back to normal in the next minute or two.

Thanks,

I recall requesting this years ago. I agree that it would be very, very helpful.

Hi Mark,

we already have a link if different places to search for 'All Messages By This Member'. What would be really helpful is to also be able to search for 'All Topics Started By This Member', not least so I can follow up on the bug reports I've raised :-)

I'm aware that if the first message of a topic is deleted a more accurate description of the search may be 'All topics with the first message by this member'.

I current get my emails from Beta as single messages in Outlook so I can search there with something like: from:"andy wedge" subject:#bug NOT subject:"re: [beta]"but it would be much nicer if it could be done within Groups.io and I could apply it to other members.

Thanks
Andy

moderated Add log entry "edited member page" or "edited subscription" #suggestion

I don't know how granular this can get, and I think some of it is already being done (e.g., member changing their delivery method), but there is currently no logging of a moderator changing a member's auto-signature, or of a member changing their auto-signature, and possibly some other changes. I would like more detail in the log for changes to the member page (by a mod) and/or subscription (by the member). If I need to get specific here, I would say "add log entry to changing the auto-signature." In my group, the auto-signature carries the cat's medical record and is one of the most important elements of the membership info.

Ability to create an email subscription based on key words in message (ex. I want to only receive emails if someone post includes the words “pecan pie”). If this feature already exists - please let me know! (Not for hash tags, since they aren’t used consistently enough).

[Mod note: Changed subject to be more descriptive]

I agree 100% with this, and I would suggest you create a new #suggestion post for it, otherwise it'll get lost in here.

Mark -- We've recently gotten more inquiries in GMF and Group_Help as to why messages are landing in moderation. Although we continue to refer folks to their activity logs it would be nice if the notification just said so.

Anyway, just wanted to give this idea another bump.

Thanks,

Exactly. I would retitle the bug "to members across multiple pages" instead of "to multiple members."

I'm also not sure whether it applies to more actions besides Send Message. It's hard to test, because at least with Send Message, nothing happens until you start composing the message. I don't have enough test bandwidth in my test group to try other actions, and I'm loathe to send test messages to my real group.

The qualification of this is a bug lies in the fact that the page explicitly says "n members checked" and then does the action only to the subset of the smaller number of members checked on the particular page - just in case anyone wants to call this a "feature." :)

Perhaps it should also be moved to the right and coloured red to match other message composition windows.

There's no problem with my browser and no pattern. The send to multiple members bug is real. Not sure what's going on with the preview feature

There seems to be a pattern here. People say something works, and J. Catlady says, "No, it doesn't." Maybe there's something weird going on with her browser, or her OS? For what it's worth, I'm running Firefox 78.10(esr) on a Gentoo Linux system (kernel version 5.10.27) that I compiled myself. I'm spending $20 a month for a premium group.

It might be nice if the participants in this group had a way to share information about their respective browsers / operating systems, to make it easier to track down real bugs in groups.io software (as opposed to glitches in people's platforms). Just a thought.
