No donations for any of my groups. But Mark - can't I just text you twenty bucks Apple Cash once in a while? KISS?

Ominously, I just got the same "this connection is not private... impersonation" yada yada message on my brand-new (< 1 month old) iPhone, after clicking on a wapo link that had been sent to me in an email. It happened just once but does not bode well.

I have no problem using an alternative browser, either, and have been using Firefox for groups.io during this issue. It is still convenient to use safari sometimes, if not for groups.io then for some other sites.

Groups.io uses the bootstrap CSS library and you can use those class definitions in your own wiki pages. https://getbootstrap.com/ Failing that, the deprecated construct <img src="myimg.jpg" align="right"> is saved just fine and still works for most (probably all) browsers. I thought that before someone asks, I'd throw up a little comparison chart:
Donation old charge old fee/loss new fee 1 0.33 0.05/0.28 0.35 2 0.36 0.10/0.26 0.40 3 0.39 0.15/0.24 0.45 4 0.42 0.20/0.22 0.50 5 0.45 0.25/0.20 0.55 6 0.47 0.30/0.17 0.59 7 0.50 0.35/0.15 0.64 8 0.53 0.40/0.13 0.69 9 0.56 0.45/0.11 0.74 10 0.59 0.50/0.09 0.79 break even was at 14.29, anything smaller was a loss for GIO 20 0.88 1.00 1.28 30 1.17 1.50 1.77 50 1.75 2.50 2.75 100 3.20 5.00 5.20 Hope it comes through with the proper spacing. Calculating the break-even point:
.05x = .029x + .30 x = .30 / (.05 - .029) = $14.29! Ouch. Bruce

Donation fee change
#update
Hi All,
Until now, the fee structure for donations was a flat 5%, which included Stripe's credit card fees. Given that Stripe's fees are 2.9% + $0.30, smaller donations ended up costing us money. Which even I realize isn't a good way to run a business. Queue Homer Simpson "D'oh!".
The fee structure for new donation requests is 2% plus Stripe's credit card fees. Existing donation requests (I believe there are 2 or 3 active at the moment) are unchanged. That is, any donations made to an existing donation request will be at the previous fee structure.
Please let me know if you have any questions.

Wiki image align right not being saved
#bug
jay@...
When editing a wiki page I am able to highlight an image and choose "align right". The editor shows the image aligned right and the "source code" reveals the CSS style of "float:right" - which is what I wanted.
However, when the page is saved the style is not retained and the image returns back to the left-hand-side with no float style attached.

Yep, I can get in using safari now, which makes me tempted to delay the inevitable (an OS upgrade;)

Display of yesterday's dates and times
#suggestion
The Groups.io compact display of times or dates works well to save screen space but could be improved for use on any mouse-less display such as a tablet or a smartphone. At present, the time of day is shown provided it is after midnight (in the preference timezone, usually), and just the date if earlier. The full date and time is shown as a tooltip if the mouse or similar pointer hovers over the area. On a tablet or phone with no pointer, though, a time within yesterday is not visible. I can't easily judge at breakfast time whether a thread was added to early yesterday evening (when I read it), or late in the evening (which I would like to look at). I suggest that the "today" format should be used for date-time values up to 22 hours old, rather than those before local midnight. This would convey a little more information without ambiguity and without using more screen space. (I suggest 22 hours, rather than 24, to allow for daylight saving time changes and a bit.) The same change could usefully be applied to the step between month+day and year date displays: change at 12 months (or possibly a little less, above) old, not on New Year's Day. It's clear enough today (in June) that July 4 means last year, not next month. Worth adding - Groups.io provides an excellent service. Thank you! - Mark, Cambridgeshire, UK

Hi All, I have so far been unable to track down this bug. I've added a bunch more debugging logging to the code and the next step is to let it run overnight when it should be generating digests to see what it shows. I'll update tomorrow. Thanks, Mark

When I compare my Feed page and my Your Groups page from Groups.io, the times shown for messages are not in the same time zone. For example, Your Groups shows my top message as 08:47 while the same message in the Feed is shown as 00:47, eight hours different. My display preferences show time zone UTC+01:00; just guessing the feed is stuck on Pacific Time PDT (UTC-07:00). I would expect both pages to show times according to my preferred timezone. - Mark

I have not been able to receive Daily Summaries for GMF, this group or any other group for which I had Daily Summary set. This happened after the morning of 5/20/2020 when I received the last ones. I changed to Individual Messages and received those but I switched back to Daily Summary and now nothing again.
