Suggestion
Margo Seegrist
Hi there,
Is there any way to not only have the pages at the bottom of the Photos but also at the top? That way if we know we need to go to page 4, we don't have to scroll all the way down.
I don't want them removed from the bottom - just shown in both places for those who prefer the bottom and if we are specifically looking for something but don't have a page number for it.
Sincerely,
Rli@...

Now, to what I think you're asking: is there a way to disable Reply All in email clients. I think the answer is yes, if I re-write the To line in messages so that, instead of being the group email address, the To line is the recipient of the email message. Then the group email address would not appear anywhere in the message headers and Reply All would not send the message to the group. But, I think this would make it very difficult for someone to determine if a message they received was sent to them via the group or just by someone replying to a message the person originally sent to the group. I think this would be confusing. Thoughts?Being able to determine that a message came from the group rather than direct from another person can give a level of confidence in the authenticity of the message and I would not want to lose that. Re: Messages contain CC:group even with ReplyTo=sender and "Remove other options"
#bug
Hi Mark,
I hate to bug you but is a fix for this coming soon? We've had to stop allowing direct (un-moderated) by anyone because many mail readers present "reply to list" as the default action, and the resulting junk messages have caused a few members to un-subscribe in disgust. At this point it's known that it is not a Cc: header but one of the others (probably List-Post: or List-Id:) which is causing the problem. -Jim

Hi All, Sorry about that. That was unintentional. The old mobile Groups page is back up. I'm working on a new design for that page, but it's not done yet and was not supposed to be rolled out yet. Thanks, Mark

Reinstate previous version of groups home page on mobile devices
#suggestion
Hi,
until a couple of days ago the mobile version of the groups homepage (https://groups.io/groups) was very useful and displayed details about the number of members and pending messages and subscription requests. Then it just displayed very small mobile site icons and group names that were almost so small you couldn't see them clearly. Now the icons and text are a bit larger and readable but the useful information about members and pending actions is still missing. Can we please reinstate the earlier version? As it stands I think it's user unfriendly as it requires many more user actions to locate and act upon pending moderator actions. Thanks, Andy

Include filename in subject line of upload mails
#suggestion
Glenn Glazer
My members ask:
The current upload email subject line says: New file uploaded to main@somegroup.groups.ioand in the body it says: * /foo/bar/baz.pdfWould it be possible to have an option to have the subject line say either of: New file (/foo/bar/baz.pdf) uploaded...The idea being that members could then visually filter upload mails based on the files of interest, e.g., rosters or minutes or bylaws and so on. Thanks, Glenn --

That screen is a bit 'dumb'. It only displays something different if the account is not confirmed. It conflates a normal account with a bouncing account, which is why you saw 'Your Account Is Confirmed' when in fact your account was (and is) bouncing. I will need to change that text. Thanks, Mark

Highlight calendar events with reminders
#suggestion
Hi Mark,
there is no current way (that I know) of identifying which calendar events have reminders defined. With just a small number of events defined it can be a fairly easy task to check each one individually but it's a time consuming task when there are lots of events. It would be helpful to have a symbol of some kind that shows if an event has a reminder defined. Thanks, Andy

Yes, the pop-up panel is stable now. Thanks. It still only works with aFor what is worth, we decided not to use the Zoom integration for our calendar alerts. Firstly it doesn't as Mark confirm work with repeated events even if you want to edit a single event of the series. More significantly the organiser (host) of the Zoom event must be the one who sets it up as it interfaces directly to Zoom. We have set calendar edits to be only permitted by moderators and our Zoom organiser is not a moderator (OK, we could change permissions..). Far easier is just to type the Zoom meeting ID and password which our host supplies directly in the alert information box. We could also probably also include the direct link. Hopefully we will only have to do this for another couple of our events if the UK Government allows us to meet again at our normal venue. Dave http://davesergeant.com

Hi Mark,
when I click the 'Make this a Zoom meeting' button the pop-up panel where you enter the Zoom meeting details opens and immediately closes repeatedly preventing entry of details. I've tested this on Firefox and Chrome and it's the same each time. Regards, Andy

Re: "Subscriber was removed for marking a message as spam" notification
#suggestion
Thank You Bruce. It seems that a number of our users over time have been removed for marking as spam. When I contact them with my gmail address they didn't do it. And when I ask them to carefully examine their inbox and spam folders for an email that has a link to reinstate themselves they almost always never find one. I have no idea if this is because their provider, since they just marked GIO as spam just tosses it and never delivers it even to the spam folder, or if they are not technical (many of our users are not) and just don't know what to look for.
