Re: Update/Rest of the year

As a rough estimate, I think it was around 3300 groups. Which means accepting 3300 invites and solving around 3300 captchas. I was very fortunate in that my dad volunteered to help with that. Let me tell you, he is now exceptionally good at identifying crosswalks and chimneys in images!

Hmmm. It should have put up a banner saying "Only owners/moderators of premium groups can participate at this time." I'll have to check the code. Thanks, Mark

They sit in the CRM system, silently staring at me, judging me. The only thing that's changed is that I assign a priority flag to messages from premium group owners/mods. I had to upgrade the plan we were on with Zendesk, but I don't think that would have changed anything. I do need to set up some sort of auto-responder with more information. Really, I need to work on the help system in general. Mark

The latest notice I received from Yahoo Groups essentially says that they are amazed and awed by the vibrant groups community-- therefore they are going to scuttle all online content.

a question for the agesIt *is* a question for the ages, and for history. Someone, at some point, and preferably soon, should write a news story about it. :-) -- J Messages are the sole opinion of the author, especially the fishy ones.

With the great Yahoo Groups migration winding downIf you can (and don't mind), could you give us an estimate of the number of groups that used the Easy Transfer in the 43 day crush (though it seemed much longer)? Several of us have played with the numbers based on things we can see and come up with estimates ranging from ~ 2000 to 6000. Obviously not crucial, but a question for the ages. Thanks, Duane

I'm still only responding to support emails from premium group owners right now.Clarification please. Are support requests from free group owners just tossed in the bit bucket? I suspect that they are because I've submitted a few items, mostly bugs, and no longer get the acknowledgement auto reply with request number. Some sort of reply or rejection notice would be more appealing. These have been items that effect paid groups as well. Thanks, Duane

Ok, I got around the title character restriction by corrupting the meaning slightly. I wish longer titles were allowed. But I did succeed in generating the post.

Re: Testing new feature request/tracking system
Seems pretty unusable. It looks like it cuts off titles consisting of more than the one line allowed in the box. But the titles showing of the existing posts are longer than that. There was no way I could create a post with title "Allow unlocking/unmoderating of auto-locked/moderated topics." As soon as I got to about the last word, it would show only "ics." But then when I went into the "details" pane, the title pane went back to the *beginning* of the title and the "ics" had disappeared. I tried making the title shorter and shorter and eventually gave up.

Thanks Duane, ( the Devil made me say that). Tried the trillo thing but most of the descriptions were above my pay-grade. Couldn't really understand what I was reading.

Mark,
The service charges us based on the number of people commenting, soClicking the LOG IN button when you don't qualify rather rudely dumps one back at the Groups.io home page without explanation. Very disorienting. At least, I assume that's the reason I got dumped. Shal
