I agree. I've hacked this by creating an account called [MyGroupName]Moderators and making it an owner. But it's a PITA.

Even with the first group event we held, we experienced people who cancelled literally in the 11th hour, a couple of whom strongly requested a change of time and venue to accommodate them. I want these people waitlisted the next time they RSVP as coming to an event, and would really like to be able to do that. Without it, we're stuck letting them hold places in the next events (which are limited to small numbers of attendees) while they make up their minds.

We have similar problems, we have people either cancel at the last minute or just not even show up. We need to be able to waitlist or remove repeat offenders as many of our events our limited by the venue we are visiting. It also makes our group look bad when only half the people show up. This could be resolved if I could have moved people off the waitlist who were waiting for someone to cancel, but never do. It's very frustrating!

Does the word "yet" mean this might be coming down the pike? That would be awesome if it is! :)

That's already available on the Files page.  I know it includes content in PDF files, but not sure about others.

I'll go the opposite direction: would it be possible to specify a minimum number of attendees by a certain date or the event is automatically cancelled? Probably pie-in-the-sky.

Mark,

You just added all that in the last 10 minutes and are messing with me again, right? 😊

Thanks!

ps You could possibly add a waitlist capability to that if and when implemented.

moderated Site updates #changelog

Changes to the site this week:

  • NEW: Enterprise Settings screen for enterprise accounts to make changes to their domain settings.
  • BUGFIX: The email address displayed when you edit an email integration was incorrect. The email address displayed in the overall email integration display is correct.
  • CHANGE: In certain messages, we cannot tell if a signature is part of the original message or a part of the reply. We were displaying these sigs, but that lead to some 'false positives'. So, we're no longer displaying the sigs.
  • CHANGE: Event notification and cancellation emails now include the Organizer name, if there is one.
  • INTERNAL: Cleanup of various javascript displaytime file versions usage.
  • API: Implemented /chatdata endpoint for chats.
  • INTERNAL: Re-implemented much of the chat system to behave well with API calls.
  • BUGFIX: We were not recording failed confirmation email results.
  • API: Changed is_subscribed field in the chat object to chat_sub.
  • API: Added show_closed parameter to the getchats endpoint.
  • BUGFIX: We were not detecting quoted message parts from Outlook that included a "Cc:" header line.
  • CHANGE: Redid the Login With Google authentication system to hopefully conform with their updated requirements.

Have a good weekend everyone.

Never mind, I just found "email yeses" and "email all responders." Exactly what I was looking for. :) It's under "View responses." (I would take it out from under there.)

It would also be very useful to be able to send a message directly, and only, to the members who have RSVP'd to the event. There is currently no easy way to do this (only their names are included in the view of who replied), and posting an update to the event would go to the entire group.

But the bare minimum would be a simple reminder feature.

And +1 to all of these suggested enhancements as well.

+1 to this.  It would be super helpful to manually trigger invites, whether to someone who lost the invite or who joins the group after the event was scheduled.

It would also be very helpful if there was an option for new subscribers to automatically receive invitations for existing calendar events, and for unsubscribers to receive cancellations.  You can fake this today by scheduling reminder emails prior to the event, but it would be helpful to have it happen automatically (particularly for recurring events).

Best,
