moderated Schedule a special notice to go out on a specific date and time #suggestion

Hi Mark, is there a possibility of you adding something that allows you to set a special notice post to go out at a specific date and time?  I understand it can be done somewhat with calendaring events but that does not work for me as the format would be different.  When I'm traveling in another country it is difficult to get a specific post out in the morning on the correct date so just wondering if that is a possibility in the future?

moderated Re: "Show quoted text" box is great, now pushing my luck with further suggestion

Mark,

I finally got a chance to test this. You did exactly what you said you did, namely: when there is a reply via email, the signature now appears when viewing the reply in the archives, rather than being swept into the quoted test.

However, my request was more general and not qualified by the phrase "when viewing messages in the archives." :) When viewing a reply in email, the sig is still put at the very bottom, below all the quoted text, and is therefore not really seen in general, or is hard to see.

I was hoping that for display purposes, either in the email OR the archive message, the signature would appear directly below the message body. In essence, it would be treated as part of the message body, at least for display purposes. (I realize it needs to be treated differently for other purposes, e.g., search.)

When someone composes a message, the auto-sig seems to be just a convenience in that it appears at the bottom of the message body and can still be modified while composing the message. It *is*, at least in that sense, part of the message body.

But I'm probably just getting greedy as usual. :)

That may seem simple to you Bob but to me it is a huge chore.

What used to be a simple click of a button on Yahoo has turned into a several hours chore on Groups.io

Thanks anyway

Yeah; sorry about missing that out. I realised not long after I posted it.

I find it simple to Export the Database(s) in CSV format and then print them from there so I can set the format as I like.

Mark,
The [Map] link shows up on Premium groups when you are in list mode
But it disappears in Map View

May I add to this?

I would dearly love a Print option.
I have to print several databases each month and it is quite a chore without the option to simply print from groups.io

Please consider !!

Thanks for all your hard work,
Kind regards,
Pamela

The answer is yes to both. :)

Find the member you wish to promote to moderator in the members list.
Click on their entry in that list anywhere except the checkbox. (This will take to the membership information for that specific individual.)
Look down the various headings (User Name, Display Name, Joined) until you get to Role. (It should currently show Member)
Click on the arrow at the right hand side of that "box" to reveal a drop - down menu; select Moderator.
Scroll to the bottom of the page and click on Save.

Job done.

moderated Site updates #changelog

Changes to the site this week:

  • BUGFIX: The activity log line when editing a message was 'via email' when it can only be 'via web'.
  • BUGFIX: The 'Vote Now' link in poll announcement emails would fail for members of announcement groups.
  • CHANGE: If a group had separate footers checked, we were not resizing any attached images according to group settings. I don't remember why I coded it that way, but I've changed it so that we do resize images.
  • NEW: Remove 'ADV:' from subject lines.
  • CHANGE: Moved the Indivisible link in the pricing page to be in the non-profits section. Also updated the instructions for enterprise non-profits.
  • NEW: Added a 'Types Of Groups That Aren't Permitted' section to the help.
  • CHANGE: In the help section, changed the sidebar so it didn't stay fixed, which was causing issues for some people.
  • BUGFIX: Fixed a couple of cases where we didn't handle collapsing quoted message replies when viewing the archives.
  • CHANGE: When viewing messages, we no longer collapse signatures within a quoted block.
  • BUGFIX: Fixed a goroutine leak in the anti-virus checker.

Have a good weekend everyone.

For address fields, there should already be a [Map] link that goes to Google Maps. Or are you talking about something else?

Thanks,

Hi Mark,

are we likely to see movement on any of these suggestions anytime soon?

Making an address field on a database table a link that is passed to google maps would be a big help to start with.
