Right, I now remember seeing that in the download. Would be great to have it online as well.

Makes sense that B and NC are mutually exclusive. NC’s are not sent emails in the first place so there would never be a bounce.

Ah, I found the answer.

If you download the Members list the very last column is "User Status (0=Not Confirmed, 1=Confirmed, 2=Inactive, 3=Bouncing, 4=Bounced)"

So those badges are exclusive. And I got the name wrong, it is "User Status" not "Email Status".

Sorry, I meant bouncing lol. Non-caffeinated here. ;p

But I'm confused about the relationship of confirmed of NC to this, other than that obviously, if they're NC, they're not receiving emails. (For that matter, if they're pending they're also not receiving emails.) I don't think an NC member would ever have a B, because emails are not sent to them in the first place.

Yes, and grinding.  ;-)

I was thinking of Bouncing, Bounced, and Not Confirmed. I /think/ Not Confirmed is exclusive of the other two, if not I'm not sure how to sort a member that has both a B and NC badge.

moderated send confirmation emails in batch #suggestion

I just tried (in one of the groups I'm a mod in, but which is not a premium group) to select the NC members and send them confirmation emails, but that is not an option and I had to do it individually. It would be nice if this could be done en masse on a selected group of members.

(OR: how about an option to send confirmation emails to ALL the NC members, without even selecting them?)

While I'm on the subject of NC members: this does not seem to be a status that expires, unlike "pending" status in a restricted group, where the membership drops off after a certain amount of time and not being approved. It seems reasonable to let NC memberships "expire" after a certain amount of time as well, rather than leave them sitting around.

I would find this extremely helpful as well.
One question: what do you mean by email status? Do you mean whether or not they're bumping, or do you mean delivery method, or something else?

moderated Allow sorting the Members list by Email Status, Role, and Posting Privilege

Mark,

Every once in a while I run into a circumstance where it would be really helpful to sort the Members list of a group by their Email Status, Role, or Posting Privilege. However, those are indicated by badges on the email address rather than being in columns of their own.

Would it be possible to change the heading for that column from "Email" to "Email (Status Role Privilege)" and have each of those words be a click-to-sort button?

I'm not wedded to the parenthesis there, but I think it makes it read better to have Email called out as the primary column heading.

This is an elaboration (and bump) on my prior suggestion:

If someone really needs that list and your group(s) have more than one moderator or owner (good practices would dictate this)
another one of the Owners/Moderaters coulld simply download the list as send it as the text of an email to the person who wishes it delivered in one particular way. I'm sure your group could come up with a workaround.

There are a lot of functions which are not exactly identical to what I'm used to but almost every single one can be performed by simply using my brain and the tools already in groups.io

Row, no English is my first language actually. What were wanting, is you know how y'all can go in and export D email addresses from the members page and download them from the website. Well, mailman has a actual email command where if you can actually simply send a command and get all of the email addresses of your current subscribers. This is all that we're wanting. And yes, I know it could be a breach of privacy laws. But it would be for only the owners to do anyway. I'm not expecting to have in available to where members can do it. I definitely wouldn't want that.

There should be a list of pending membership-requests on the *website* of the group in question.

I wouldn't know why anyone would need a list sent by e-mail, an it could break a couple of privacy-laws

Unless I am missing something transferring photos between albums is still not practical, at least if the group has many members. The "Owner" dropdown box lists members in no particular order that I can see. It's not feasible to scroll through a random listing of thousands of members.

Trying to type into the box jumps to the next member whose name begins with each new keystroke, so you can, say, go through all the A's by keep hitting the "A" key, but that is not much help.

Anyhow, the names are user name only with no way to uniquely identify a particular user among, say, 20 different Joe's or John's.

I can't find any mention of this additional feature in any change log,

Mark; the appearance of this topic follows a brief exchange on GMF; evidently Duane has experienced something similar. I first noticed it last weekend when a onetime Yahoo Group enlisted all its members on to a new Group on Groups.io without dragging all the historical impedimenta with it.

I suspect the problem will only be apparent to members not on Pacific Time. I (and almost all the others on the new Group) am in the UK, and thus on UTC, or more correctly at the moment UTC + 1.

The time display for incoming messages is correct. However, if I (and I assume anyone else) quotes from a previous post then the time shown for that previous post is exactly (minus) 8 hours different, i.e. Pacific Time.

Duane is of the view that this may an artifact of the work done recently on Date Formats; I don't know enough to either agree or disagree with that statement!

Any chance you can have a look at this sometime?

Regards,

Chris

Good afternoon everyone, I am with one other owner, and middle of transferring three size groups over to groups.I0 from the mailman. The partner, is wanting to see if we can add a email command to bring down all of the people that have applied for membership I'm wondering if this is possible now were aware that this is possible through the web, but he would rather do it all via email.

A locked group is read-only. If you try to send an email to it, you get back a generic bounce message saying the group is locked. You can create a locked group member notice, and that will be sent out instead of the generic message.
