April 23 – May 1, 2018I'm all for Mark taking a fortnight for a vacation. The optimistic pessimist in me says that YahooGroups is going to make a major announcement between 20 April and 7 May, that will result in Mark working 7/24 for at least 28 days, starting within seconds of the announcement being made. OTOH, the pessimistic pessimist in me sees that announcement being made between 20 May and 25 May, to take effect immediately. jonathon

Re: Email address in footer proposal
Can you please clarify, Mark? Only email addressed to me would have my email address in the footer, right? Not those written by other members.

Hi Chris, On Sat, Apr 14, 2018 at 4:09 AM, Chris Jones via Groups.Io <chrisjones12@...> wrote: Mark; we often come up with suggestions for changes on this forum, and it isn't always clear if those suggestions or requests are going to go on the "to do" list or not. I absolutely appreciate all the suggestions and feedback that everyone provides on beta@. You all are awesome! Sometimes (oftentimes these days) there's so much of it that I unfortunately can't get to it all and still spend time working on the site. It used to be easier, when the site was much smaller; I had time to maintain the Trello boards. I'm not complaining, mind you. I don't know what the right answer is for acknowledging suggestions and maintaining lists and such. It needs to be lightweight enough that I don't spend a considerable amount of time on it. At least until the end of May, I will be spending all my energy (outside of bug fixing and trying to keep up with support) on GDPR stuff. Whatever extra time there is, I will be working on adding the ability of group owners to charge subscriptions for their groups and other premium features. I want to increase Groups.io revenue so that I can hire help and really make this thing huge. Thanks, Mark

Sometimes I voice opinions that are not well received.
Once I had a very personalized Domain and email address that was posted to the Staff page by the Owner on a Tech Help Listserver site. (He called it a senior moment...) I got SPAMMED so much for years I had to give up that Domain and email address... Using your Domain in a Group setting such as this seems like the same situation might possibly happen. Re: Email address in footer proposal
The email address should not be in plain text as that is a ready target
for spammers targetting group archives. Which is why I put my website as my signature rather than my email address. Dave On 16 Apr 2018 at 12:13, Mark Fletcher wrote: Hi All, http://davesergeant.com

Email address in footer proposal
Hi All, For groups that are not set to Reply To Group, the Unsubscribe link in the footer does not include any identifying information about the person receiving the message. This can be a problem if the person doesn't know what email address they are subscribed to the group under. My proposal is that, for groups that are not set to Reply To Group, that we include a line in the footer that specifies the email address that the person is subscribed under. I'm not a big fan of making the footer any longer than it is already (because I already get complaints about how long it is), but I think something needs to be added to address this issue. Other suggestions would be appreciated as well. Thanks, Mark

If users are permitted to upload Files and Photos maybe somewhere a request could be made to send a message to the group+owner, giving explicit consent to sharing the content on a non exclusive, non commercial basis, before being allowed to upload.
