Just an observation. If one starts to post something and then changes their mind, the window should perhaps have a 'Cancel' button at the bottom next to 'Send' to take the user back.

Re: A few questions
Will you still make it where we can set the default text option for repliesBrenda, you need to scroll down just below the Reply box to find the HTML/Markdown/Plain text switch. Personally I'd like to see it at the top of the Reply window, to the right of the HTML text style stuff, so it's easier to find. Dano

A few questions
Hi Mark, A few questions that aren't bugs. 1. Is there any RSS support for this site? 2. Will you still make it where we can set the default text option for replies, or are we no longer going to get to choose a default, since you added Markdown? Is it just not done yet? 3. Will you consider allowing more customization of the Home Page down the line? (a question from a member of my group). By the way, THANK YOU for fixing the Home Page photo ratio issue. All of my owls are finally NOT stretched or squished! Brenda

Mark, A couple questions, not sure if they are bugs. 1. When I was replying on the interface in Beta, the message number box at the top would not always work whenever I was taken to my reply (i.e. the last post in the group. 2. I thought you said that you had fixed the Reply feature so that it would allow you to return to the post you just replied to, but if you did, I don't see it, or it isn't working. Is it a bug, or is it still pending? Thanks, Brenda

Mark,
I'm not upset, I completely understand it was a bug. I'm just totally relieved that it wasn't something stupid that I did. Even though I'm married to a programmer, I'm still not super computer literate. No worries, just glad I wasn't losing my mind. I only do one group at a time, ever, anywhere, and I was in Owlperch. Nice to know that was true...that I really did see number 42 jump to 1087 or so. Brenda

Re: The Biggest Deal Breaker -- Database

David,
The option needs to be made available to group owners to make the WikiFor a public Wiki I can recommend PBworks. I've been using it to host YahooGroupedia for several years now and it has worked beautifully. It may be because the subject matter is so limited in scope (Yahoo Groups) but I've had very little trouble with defacement by spammers - mostly SEO crooks dropping links - and all handled with a simple reversion followed by restricting that user name. The fact that I'm able to get email notification of any edits is a key factor in keeping on top of any inappropriate changes. That said, I'm not suggesting that Groups.io groups shouldn't have an option to open the Wiki (or other features) to non-members. I can well imagine an intermediate access control setting that allows non-members to read the wiki but only members (or only moderators) to edit it. Or even allow non-members to edit the wiki so long as they have a Groups.io account (the latter is crucial so that a troublemaker can be banned). Completely anonymous writing would probably be a recipe for trouble. -- Shal

Chris,
An interesting question - should there be some visual indication thatAbsolutely. That's why I suggested that the icon for such integrations could be the same sort of stylized page and arrow that signifies going "off-site" on Wikipedia. But maybe that alone is too subtle. -- Shal

Re: Suggestion for files settings
Judy F.
Trish, I think I replied to you about this earlier today. We have messages that need to go out for various reasons to a specific person for a specific reason. This is not the weekly, monthly messages. We send one out when a member joins and is pended. That message asks for information to be returned. Once I approve a member, then another message goes out welcoming them. If I deny a pended request, another message goes out. All of these are scheduled under various categories Pending Denied Joined
These are shown in Yahoo groups Control Panel/Notifications.
Note: I just uploaded a file in the shaltest group and nowhere do I see where I can select a scheduled option such as Joined.

Judy,
Are you talking about the files that go out to pending members or are you talking about approving pending members?
These are Member Notices, which are files that get sent out to: Welcome Pending Goodbye Banned
All can be modified to suit your group's info/needs.
Trish

When we have a member join the group, they are pended. Also at that time, a message is automatically sent to them under the Pended category requesting information. Another options is a letter goes out to welcome them when they are approved, another if they are denied, etc. These various messages do not go out to everyone nor do they go out weekly/monthly, etc. Just the one time to that particular individual.
I don’t see anything like that when I click on the Setting option.

Example: When someone joins the selling group, they are pended and an email is automatically, sent asking for required information and ask that it be returned within a certain amount of time. If we get it within that time and all of the information is there, I then approve them. If I don't get it in that amount of time, I deny the request to join.
