Sorry, didnt read this carefully.  Obviously, it would negatively impact some groups to be forced to have photos in Files.  I am a believer in owner options.  Photos and files need to remain basically  separate, with the group owner allowed  to choose whether to allow photo uploads to files.

I would vote no on this one. We are not a photo heavy group but we do want to keep them separate from our files so we appreciate the blocking of photos to file folders.

But the request is to make it an option for the group owner.  Default could  be no photos in files.  Those of us that need them, can click the option.   I dont understand why you want to prevent those of us that NEED this option from having it.

I currently have a topic on moderation but I would like to allow certain posters to post to it without the moderation, because I'd like any responses from them to reach the group as soon as possible. It would be convenient if "moderate topic" allowed an override for selected members. I tested the member setting "override - not moderated" and it does not accomplish this. Could that be changed?

I've changed it to behave this way now.

Hi All,

I will be on vacation from Monday 4/3, back on Wednesday 4/12. During this time I will be slow(er than normal) to respond to emails, and group transfer requests may be delayed. I'll be in Europe, so expect any responses to be during those daylight hours.

As usual, I will continue to monitor the site and respond to any issues during this time.

Thanks,

Mark

Could a set of wikis be selected to rotate as the sticky, something like every 2 days (or with a frequency that the group could set)?

Transfer times are back to normal (ie. within one business day generally). I will be around Easter weekend, so that shouldn't be a problem.

Apologies for starting a new thread, but I couldn't find the old one about this. I notice that the new pending member notice to moderators provides the information that the membership will automatically be rejected after 14 days of inaction. I do remember that discussion and was in favor of the idea. However, I'm now wondering whether an automatic rejection notice goes out after that time. If so (or if not currently), could there be a message-type specifically for that purpose?

Right now, no message is sent out if a pending subscriber is deleted after 14 days. Same as with pending messages that are deleted after 14 days.

Thanks,

Hi Dave,

The UK Six Metre Group migrated from Yahoo to Groups.io a few weeks ago. Went totally without a hitch, no negative feedback from any of our users. If theres anything I can help you with or answer any questions to ally your fears just let me know.

Egads yes. I havent had a recent lab posting via photo, but my Feline Thyroid group does sometimes post that way.  We absolutely need to be able to put them into files.

Mark,

I had the first run-in with this exclusionary feature today. ;-( Quite often, our group members take photos of their cat's lab reports and attach them to their messages. I then upload them into a folder for their cat. Unfortunately, I discovered the hard way today that I can no longer do that.

Could I convince you to reconsider and to make this restriction optional? It will cause hardship to our group not to be able to upload photos to the Files section.

I have a question about the canned messages in general, and have had it floating around in my head for some time. Right now, all except the "message to member" types are messages that go out automatically when triggered by the appropriate event (pending member, welcome message, banned, etc.). When does the "message to member" go out? Its existence seems to imply the ability to send it out by hand to a particular member, or members, when desired, but I don't see the interface for doing that.

Click a member from the Members page, then go to the bottom of the page and click Send Message. Also, it should come up in the page to reply to a +owner message.
