Well, I'm not sure any more that I understand the process you're trying to describe. If all they have to do is reply with "1", that would be very nice. If, OTOH, they have to delete all prior text, as you said before, that I'll stick with my feeling that it's impractical. I haven't tried any of this out yet myself. You can also click on Reply to Group within the group email and type "+1".
I don't think it can be any easier. (Of course, it probably won't work for
those who still have the default signature "Sent from my iPhone".)
Would you want another link in every email sent out for the possibility of a
like? What alternative did you have in mind?
For me, the nuisance factor of yet another link at the bottom of every
group email is enough for me to give up on "like".

"Like" a message from within email (without having to log in)
#suggestion
For the benefit of email subscribers, I'm trying to get group members to cut down on posts with no content besides agreement or thanks. The "Like" button could accomplish that, but it requires people to log in. If there's a way to allow people to "Like" posts from within email without logging in, that would be great.

Thanks but I want to merge lot of message to one threads… repeating the merge action is boring.

Re: Description changed
OTOH, cancel that request. I don't care about having to set it each time, because the bulk of the posts in our group don't contain attachments anyway So having to set it for those cases is not a bother.

Re: Description changed
Mark, Would, or could, the flag be on a group-wide basis? In my group, nobody would ever want search to include attachments. So I'd love to be able to set this once and for all, within my group, as the default for search. It would be cumbersome to have to set it for each individual search. Re: keep history available for members who left
#suggestion
I'm having a lot of trouble finding apparently correct results in a member activity search after a member leaves the group. A member left yesterday and all that appears in the history is the action of leaving. Also, when I search on a member name (after the member has left), it returns different results from when I search on the email address. The email address also appears to work (in some cases) only if the "@gmail.com" part is left out of the search term. I could go on and on with the seeming anomalies and seemingly incorrect or weird results. I don't even remember them all but can go back in and find details and report them to support as bugs. I'm not sure it's worth the effort. Bottom line, I'm finding the member activity search after a member leaves extremely flakey and unpredictable, and therefore it would really be helpful for this to be facilitated as proposed above by Mark and Shal.

Re: Separate Admin Menu options from member menu options

Mike,
I have my main group and subgroup settings for "members visible" Set toConfirmed in my test group (shalstest@). This appears to be a bug or oversight, and should be reported to support@groups.io so that it gets entered into the issue tracking system. In the past when that option was set to "Subscribers" non-mods could see a Members item in the left hand column. It produced a table with fewer columns than the version visible to moderators. Frances,
Sorry, Shal, it turns out only Rochelle's message was incorrect on myI was going to suggest in that case that perhaps Ro had cc'd or bcc'd you directly in her reply, but I see that her reply was to J's initial post rather than to yours. That you could have detected in your iPhone by the lack of the standard group footer. My copy of Ro's message does have the In-Reply-To field (which is how I'm certain she replied to J), and the References field as well, so short of some kind of glitch in the transmission of your copy I don't know why your iPhone might single out this message for misbehavior.
