Hi Mark,
Suppose the subgroup is a moderators’ group? A moderator
might wish to revert to a regular membership and not want to leave the parent
group... Couldn’t it be a choice to leave one or both?

when you unsubscribe from the parent group, you are automatically unsubscribed
from any/all subgroups as well. Mark
