Hi Marlin,
My thought is that single messages and digests could contain links to the web site to make it possible for replies to be sent to the posting member via the system – without exposing the original posting member’s address.  This would offer wonderful protection from spammers, bots, viruses, scams, hacks, harvesters...

Owners already have the Option as to whether the membership list is available to the ‘owner-only’ or to the ‘owner and moderators’.   That’s as it should be.

Well, I thought about asking you that, privately, off of the group, but decided to send my message to the group instead.

If your address was obscured, that choice would be taken away from me.

On the other hand, I do see and sympathize with your opinion.
