User Account Documentation
After over a year, still can not locate the page on paid account user for owner information that must include Name, Contact phone number and Address. Standard information on any contract on internet site registration. What is the link to that information for edit and authentication by the paid site owner .
Please post that page link, is not in any documentation on the company site. After 3 days ZERO response from same questions to support@groups.io . Tnks

Re: User Account Alias text addition suggestion
I added a note about logging in with an email alias to the information about adding email aliases in the Members Manual > Understanding Groups.io accounts > Setting account preferences and viewing account information > Setting or changing account login elements (section 3.4.2 in the PDF version).

If you have an alias defined for your account, you can log in using that email address, just as you would with your `primary` email address. The end result is the same, you're logged into your (singular) account.

You just define an alternate address as an alias to the account address. In fact the alias address cannot already have an account defined with Groups.io. Andy

User Account Alias text addition suggestion
Hi Nina,
I'd suggest to add a note blurb in the member user account alias section (member PDF, 3.4.2, "Setting or changing account login elements"), to include some blurb to the effect of "using an alias email address to log in into GIO (with the same pwd as the main email address) is the same as logging in as the main email address" or something to that effect. What brought this up was this topic in beta: "Linking email addresses #suggestion", https://beta.groups.io/g/main/topic/76845259 Not quite sure if there should also be something to that effect somewhere in the Owner manual. Cheers, Christos

Re: mysterious “Your email is hosted by Gmail” note
I think this is more a question for the GMF group, but basically groups.io is modifying the look of your email address to account for something called DMARC, which is a technical issue affecting gmail and yahoo mail (and possibly some others - I'm not sure). So no, it's not just gmail.
You are receiving an email back for the emails you send because you have your account set to "always receive copies of my own emails." It has nothing to do with the DMARC problem or the munging of your email. You can turn that setting off, but your email address will still be munged because of DMARC.

mysterious “Your email is hosted by Gmail” note
Hannah Pascal
Hi docs group :)
In account settings under my email there’s a notice Note: Your email is hosted by Gmail, so we will rewrite the From line for the copies of your group messages that we send back to you. However the “learn more” link, or anything else I could find, explains *why* this is happening. At the moment every email I send to a group triggers an immediate email back with the same content but from “hannah via groups.io” which I assume this note refers to. Why is that? Is it some privacy setting that hides my true email? Why is it only for GMail? Is it a workaround for a GMail bug? Could I instead turn these echo emails off and avoid this rewrite issue altogether? Thanks!

Hi, Bruce. I added a topic (which Mark reviewed) to the Members Manual called About the Show quoted text button on the group’s website. I hope it does the trick. :-)

Please also explain that such text is not sent to subscribers who receive their messages via a digest subscription (and why).

RSVP Maybe reference in Owners' manual
Hi Nina,
The Owner's manual still has a reference to 'RSVP Maybe' (rather than 'RSVP Not Sure') in section 15.5.1 (PDF reference). Also, the help Centre says the latest update was Aug 24 but the PDF cover page says Aug 14. Regards, Andy

Where did you find a check mark for a Moderator to Delete a group?
As owner, I just went throught Moderators' abilities and couldn't find any such ability. Such a privilege is only an owner's -- Bob Bellizzi

Iḿ thinking along the line of: if you want the group to continue, appoint at least one moderator (and don't assign the privilege of deleting the group). If you don't assign a moderator, it will be assumed that you don't want the group to go on after your demise. I'm not sure it's possible to give a moderator the privilege of deleting the group without the other moderating tasks... groetjes/ĝis, Ronaldo

Re: Getting Started Guide for Group Owners available for review
After all the discussion on succession in the GMF, I suggest adding something like the new sentence in italics below:
"It is a good idea to have at least one additional owner for your group as backup in case you become unavailable or incapacitated. If you are the sole owner of your group, the group will have difficulty continuing without you and have to be abandoned or completely re-established under a new owner. You also might want to have additional moderators, depending on your group’s size and activity level, to help you manage the group. Moderators can have different sets of permissions, so you can assign specific permissions to different people if you want them to handle only certain moderation activities." Best, Marv

A couple of additional suggestions:
Introduction Amend bullet 2 "or restricted group, or other combinations of settings." bullet 7 change to "Approve or reject messages..." Duane
